Hello.
World Cup. Semifinal. France vs. Spain. We are moving forward with the French team to the next stage.
The French are confidently moving forward so far and their attacking trio looks unstoppable. They have also improved their defense after the group stage. Morocco was only allowed to create 0.14 xG, while the French themselves created 3.68. And Morocco is known for having a decent defense. In general, they haven't had any problems against any team except Paraguay, who didn't even play good football, but just disrupted the French team. The Spanish certainly won't be able to play like that.
The Spanish team also looks good and controls the ball well, but the Belgians have shown that they can be vulnerable. Both against Portugal and Belgium, Merino's substitution and goals at the end saved them, but they might not be able to get away with it 3 times. Yamal doesn't look like a better version and with the tougher Spanish side, it seems a bit like Peru to me. In their group, they didn't have anyone to play against (Uruguay doesn't even remotely resemble the old Uruguay, so I don't think it's worth discussing), and Austria, who they faced after the group stage, looked tragic throughout the tournament, just like the Portuguese (although they have good players, the game is definitely not inspiring). Everyone was talking about how there was no chance for the Belgians and that the Spanish would crush them, but we saw a completely different picture and a barely snatched victory for Peru against a heavily weakened Belgium whose former golden youth can't carry them anymore.
Many say that this is already the final, but I don't know... I think the Spanish are a bit like Peru and I hope it will be proven today. I hope for at least 2 goals from the French team and maybe 1 from the Spanish (they still create some good chances, it's hard to deny that). Good luck.
