Gabriel Jesus Banned by Conmebol

Brazil International and Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has been handed an international ban, because of his protests after being sent off in the 2019 Copa America final.

Reports have it that the striker has been banned from playing international football for 2 months because of his actions at the the Copa America final last month.

CONMEBOL have determined that Jesus broke Articles 7.1 and 7.2 of the Disciplinary Guidelines for "behaving in an offensive, insulting or defamatory manner of any sort" and has additionally fined Jesus $30 000.

After being given a second yellow card within the 70th minute of the match against Peru, the 22-year-old made gestures suggesting that the referee had been paid or given bribe , before pushing the VAR box virtually to the ground as he walked in the direction of the tunnel.

He reacted furiously to the referee's decision, suggesting that he felt the referee had been bribed before the match.
