worldwinner wrote: In the spirit of full disclosure, I work with WorldWinner and want to respond to your questions/concerns. WorldWinner is in fact, a legitimate company and not a scam site as you imply. WorldWinner is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation, and with more than 30 million registered players, WorldWinner hosts more than 20 million tournaments every month. You can find out more about the company by visiting: WorldWinner Cash Competitions.

Some points of clarification:

ON FAIRNESS: WorldWinner goes to great lengths to ensure that the casual game tournaments we provide are both fair, and contests of skill as opposed to luck. The goal of our competitions is to provide casual gamers with a forum for friendly competition and therefore, WorldWinner always serves as an impartial tournament host (players always compete against one another; never against WorldWinner). As such, we have no vested interest in the outcome of a tournament. In addition, WorldWinner matches players based on the FairMatching System to provide each player with opponents of an equal skill level. You can find additional details here: WorldWinner Cash Competitions - My Account (keyword: match).

ON TAXES: WorldWinner does report player winnings to the IRS as is required by law. We have worked directly with the IRS to ensure we follow their guidelines and send our players the appropriate tax forms with a clear explanation about IRS procedures. We also provide our contact information online and our customer support team is always available to provide more clarification about the tax forms we issue our players. If there's any confusion, players can easily reach a real person for a direct answer. Additional information is available here: WorldWinner Cash Competitions - My Account (keyword: tax).

If you have any additional questions, please respond to this post or send an email. Weโ€™re always happy to address your concerns. Thank you.
I ve playing for gamesville (worldwinner) Clue Mistery Match game for some time. Analysing the top players results I've concluded that only a machine could achieve those results. For letting cheaters / bots playing their games or by forging results I must say that the site is a scam. I can provide with all the evidence and math to support my conclusion if needed.

Never played clue mistery match games, but I will see what it's all about.

Remember just as in poker there will always be players better than yourself.

Hard to understand sometimes but if you are not in the upper class of a game type you will lose in the long run if playing against others.

I've played the clue mistery game today and was another good game at worldwinner. But you said you have analyzed the game from top players.

What scores are we talking about ?

Why would they be bots or plugins and not a real human.

There's people with photographic memory dont forget that.

Ive made myself a bot for playing Clue Mistery Match. The bot plays at light speed never making a mistake, alwasy remembering all the past cards positions. And even with this super human speed and memory, it could only get equal that the top results. The top results are:

a) Another bots like mine....but those bots acttualy win the competions
b) Made up scores by the website in order to keep the prizes for those ghost useres

Are we really sure that WorldWinner is a skill site, just 'cause it says it is? I found this blog that makes a pretty good case for some of the games like Jeopardy not being anything about skill but about how lucky you are regarding what categories are in your tournament.

And it says too that aren't card games like the Solitaires a lot about luck, even if all players are dealt the same hand, since knowing what is coming up in the draw pack or under the cards unplayed determines a lot of what will happen.

I've wondered if players really are matched by skill like WW says, why the scores sometimes are not at all close.

I have to go through registering (pain in my @$$) to be able to post but feel the need to speak up. I can verify that worldwinner is a skilled game. I am only good at two, catch-21 and tile city. I have won so much on catch-21 that they have decided not to let me play that game anymore (boohoo). I understand the frustation one might be in when they get their best score and it's just not enough. But you do have to understand that there are just better players out there. I am not the best but depending on my days I do really well and other days several other players beat me (so I get 2nd/3rd place etc). I am saying this because on those two games I am able to profit and other games when I think it was the best score, it's just not enough so I see where all the frustration is coming from and it seem as if it is a fraud/scam.

As far as the pay out goes, I haven't had any problems receiving checks from worldwinner. I receive 2 checks every month. Before I was "banned" from catch-21 last year, I made a whooping income 23k. The only problem I had was with a check that totals 11k which took many months (possibly 5-6) to sort out and finally I received the check in the mail and cashed out the biggest check I had ever received in my entire life.

And yes, sometimes I do feel like I am playing against a robot when I can't get almost perfect scores when I had tried my best but I often get angry hate messages from other players calling me a cheater etc etc just because they are incapable of clicking as fast as I can or memorizing the cards that aren't played yet.

I am just a girl with a 6 yr old pc and a 5 yr old cell phone, that says a lot about my abilities to cheat.

Hope this help in answering any doubts. ๐Ÿ˜

Was never in doubt myself regarding worldwinner, I play there occasionally recreational-wise. The fee's are high but not invisible, it's there for everyone to see if they want to!

What I do know is that the competition is super tough and that says it all.

If you do want to play there, do it for the fun of it, or be at the top of your game.

You're right, definitely gotta be on top of your game. I lost a lot of money in catch-21 in the beginning until I got frustrated and sat down in the park with a deck of cards to figure out all the possible outcomes and ways to maximize my score before I was able to get 950-1050 (1050 is perfect score) but๐Ÿ˜ก I was very slow at first (timer = bonus scoring) which didn't do me any good until I got used to the game n just started playing as fast as I can based on wat I can remember by heart. I have gotten perfect score a good 3-5 times and I was blocked and put on hold while they investigated my score but I always end up on the clear as sometimes it is just possible for a human being to get a perfect score.

So even the top players don't just started off playing well, it takes getting used to the game as well. I lost a lot of money in paint buckets until I figured out a pattern and was able to win up to the mid-level and gave up cause it was just too hard.

I think one just have to find a game they are best at n it takes getting used to or some just have to play for fun.

Worldwinner now blocks access to your account when you try to withdraw your winnings. They accuse you of fraud and close it and don't pay you what you rightfully win. This is illegal and I warn nobody to ever use worldwinner for free or cash games.

Report them to BBB, rate them on Web Of Trust, a browser add on.

Let people know the truth about what they are doing.

From your post I take it that everyone trying to withdraw winnings gets blocked. This would mean that thousands and thousands of players would become affected.

Like a flood, members would stop playing at worldwinner. I dont see that happening. Just a post of hate.

If you mean YOUR account got blocked for various reasons please tell us more about it. What games have you played ? Any tournaments ? How much did you win and tried to withdraw ?

What message did you get from worldwinner when you lost access to your account ?

Thanks

Meltdown wrote: HELLO!

I have been playing on worldwinner for the past 6 months and I have made my own investigation regarding how possible it is to win a tournament or game. Many times when I have had my best game ever, it's shocking to see that somebody else have managed to get 1 or 2 points more than me, this has happened many times, the longer I have played the more I can see a certain pattern in the games. I have won a few games over the past times, nothing big though, now worldwinner wants me to pay taxes on money that I have never received. It seems that I will not see any money at all from worldwinner.

Please help, what can I do ?

Is worldwinner a scam site ?
Okay - I went through the registration process to post this but it's important to me that people understand what's going on with WorldWinner. I don't know if the games themselves are a scam but the IRS bit is. Here's what happens:

Say you deposit $50. You play 5 games and lose. Then you win one and get $3.99. Then lose one or two. Then win one or two. Eventually you lose all $50 on the games but you've been playing for a month on that money. Every win you made is TAXABLE.... every dollar, even though it was always less than $50 you deposited - you still won those small amounts and they can add up. Then heaven forbid - you try again! For every $50 you deposit - you can win maybe $150... but never actually WIN. Doesn't matter to the IRS and since it's not "gambling" you can't deduct wins. You just owe that money. Trust me - I'm still paying off over $2,000 in taxes on the "winnings" I supposedly got while still being UNDER the poverty level. And NO I didn't play money I couldn't afford - I'd just play $20 every two weeks when I got paid... and I never won a big tournament or cashed out. When I tried to argue these points with the IRS I was told to contact a lawyer and argue it in court... or pay the taxes. Problem is it would cost me more to hire a lawyer than it would be to pay the taxes...

Now why do I say worldwinner scammed me? Because I don't think they represent the "winnings" to the IRS correctly. The IRS has no way of knowing that what they receive on the 1099 is all those micro-wins that are not really winning. All they know is that worldwinner reported PAYING OUT that much money. I would imagine, worldwinner then can deduct those "wins" as losses against their income. Which is wrong, in my opinion...

Also - as for the warning they post about the winnings being taxable - I think most people think they are referring to winnings above what you deposit into their account. No one would think that it's winning to give Woldwinner your money and get NOTHING from it!
