Calvin Ayre is not going to battle with a weak army, the billionaire recently indicted for money laundering and and running an online gambling organization, has assembled quite the legal team.

The founder of Bodog-com is accused of moving at least $100 million in sports gambling winnings into the country from accounts outside the U.S., as well as the hiring of media advertisers to promote online gambling. Both are illegal activities in Maryland, where the indictment was filed; even if the bookmaker is located outside the country.

When online poker sites were shut down by the US Department of Justice in April 2011 the accounts of many US-based poker players were frozen.

Some opted to cross the border to Canada or Mexico so they could continue playing online and keep on winning - and losing - money.

Robert Fellner, 28, had to wait several weeks for the online poker company Pokerstars to reimburse him the almost $150,000 (£94,480) he had won.

Georges St-Pierre will be on the shelf for awhile. By his own estimation, it'll likely be at least November before we see the welterweight champion step in the cage for a title unification bout with interim champion Carlos Condit.

But St-Pierre's keeping busy with rehab, and now he has a new hobby to keep him busy: poker.

The state Senate passed this bill in committee today, with Chairman Sarlo abstaining and no one voting “no.”
What’s next? A full Senate and Assembly vote whenever the state budget issues start to settle – but that won’t be until early April, mid-May, or even sometime in June. Online poker buffs, like everyone else, must wait and see how the battle royale goes between Republican Governor Christie and the Democratically-controlled Legislature in Trenton.

In their latest update, Holdem Indicator and Omaha Indicator have added support for Zoom Poker, the newest version of fast-paced online poker that is available exclusively on PokerStars.

Zoom Poker is not a new concept to online poker games, but it is novel for PokerStars players, many of whom will enjoy the site's version of the old Rush Poker on Full Tilt. Zoom Poker places you within a pool of players and then switches tables once your action in a hand has concluded. The result of this format is that your opponents change each hand because everyone within the pool is competing against all players instead of opponents seated solely at one table.

Americas Cardroom is ushering in a brand new era in online poker by making a big change to all freezeout tournaments. Just days away from their long expected $250,000 Guaranteed tournament on April 15th, all existing freezeout multi-table tournaments will become re-entry tournaments, a popular tournament structure that lets players who bust out early re-enter at a new table with a refreshed chip stack.

In the financial world, an often-repeated bit of advice is “don’t fall in love with a stock.” In other words, investors need to take in new information and constantly reconsider the way they value their holdings. No matter how good of a buy you expected a particular stock to be when you bought it, new information could always come out that drastically changes how that stock is likely to perform. Refusing to sell at what is now a good price because you once thought the stock would go higher is a common mistake.
