It has been reported before that the deal between Devilish Gaming and the internet poker website Purple Lounge has come to a stop. Now, there are reports that state that on the 5th a May a major development has happened concerning the deal. This development came as a result of the empty e-mail that had a subject that stated that Devilish Gaming is welcoming the players from the Purple Lounge. This email was sent from Devilish Gaming to all of the players of the website. These reports took the online poker community by storm, as it increased the concerns surrounding the formation of some sort of deal between the two websites. On the other hand, the fact that the email didn’t contain any message might be proof that such email was sent way too early and was in fact due to an error or a malfunction.

A college student who started out in online gambling by giving in to a close friend's persuasion and ended up losing everything that mattered in his life. His parents had to mortgage their house and sell their cars to pay off his debts. And his law studies had to come to an end.

Matt (not his real name), who was pursuing a law degree, had everything a 20-year-old could ask for, including a loving family that had always fulfilled his every need.

Little did he realise that his life could be in tatters in the blink of an eye.

“I didn't know what happened, but the next moment, I got sucked' into it. It's an old cliche and I had been warned about it before, but never took heed,” said the avid English Premier League (EPL) follower.

It’s long been said that some of the best poker players are the ones fans have never heard of, the men and women who opt to grind cash games out of the public spotlight. One such player is Andy Moseley, a 23-year-old high-stakes pro from London who recently made an appearance at the PartyPoker Big Game VI.

If you watched the live stream of that 48-hour cash game here on PokerNews, you no doubt remember Moseley. Not only was he the game’s second-biggest winner, but the wunderkind was the beneficiary of a mistimed fold by Phil Laak, a hand that will likely be remembered for years to come.

To prime itself for the U.S. debut of legal online poker, MGM Resorts International, owner of such Las Vegas Strip monuments as the MGM Grand, the Bellagio and the Mirage, wanted a partner that knew the ropes.

So last October it hooked up with Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment Plc, a London-listed, Gibraltar-based specialist that rakes in more from Web betting than any other publicly traded company. MGM Resorts took 25 percent of a new venture 65 percent owned by Bwin.Party, with smaller Las Vegas casino operator Boyd Gaming getting the remaining 10 percent.

Americans could see the first U.S.-based licensed and regulated real-money poker site this holiday season.

At Monday’s Gaming Policy Committee meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada Gaming Control Board Chairman Mark Lipparelli said that the Silver State will likely issue its first licenses in 30-60 days — and it will probably take another six to eight months after that before games are running.

At the last meeting, Lipparelli suggested a slightly earlier date for licenses. The majority of time will be devoted to regulators approving the technology of licensed sites. This spring, the state finalized rules for the private testing of software.

Despite efforts from a handful of other states, Nevada remains the only jurisdiction in the country where online poker is legislatively authorized.

The PokerStars 2012 Spring Championship of Online Poker, or SCOOP, has not been without its fair share of action. Shaun “shaundeeb” Deeb has now won his third title, making him just one multi-title SCOOP winner this year. Just a few days ago, Viktor Blom won his second title of the year.

Deeb’s first win of 2012 came in Event #10 when he won $44,200 and the second in Event #19. Both games were stud tournaments. In the later tourney, Deeb beat out 67 other players, who collectively drove the prize pool up to $136K. Deeb walked with $41,600 for his first place finish. Other registered players included Team PokerStars players George Lind III, Bertrand Grospellier, Eugene Katchalov, Ville Wahlbeck, George Danzer, Anders Berg, Nacho Barbero, and Martin Staszko, all of whom Deeb outlasted.

After his victory, Deeb tweeted, “Another SCOOP title for me. Super tough and long three-hour match with Stevie and @EugeneKatchalov. Both played well, but turned down a +EV chop.”

Shaun Deeb is having an unbelievable series in the 2012 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker, better known as the SCOOP. Deeb won his third event in a week’s time last night, making him the first player ever to hold four SCOOP titles. Deeb took down the $2,100 stud for $41,600 on May 10th, topping a 64-player field. He followed that up just three days later when he topped a tough final table in the $2,100 triple stud event, which featured a rotation of seven-card stud, stud eight-or-better and razz. In that event he outlasted a tough 68-player field, eventually defeating Stephen Chidwick heads-up for the title and the $44,200 first prize. Deeb completed his high buy-in seven-card stud trifecta last night when he won the $2,100 stud eight-or-better event, this time overcoming a 74-player field to earn $40,330.
