One of the advantages is that you get to watch and gather info on the other players while you wait, assuming that you haven't been watching the table for a while already. . .

It depends on where your at I supose. If your two hands away from having to post it again, might as well wait. I don't consider the blinds a huge disadvantage in cash games as they will never increase. And they allow me to some drawing hands I wouldn't have played ordinarily since I'm getting into the pot for a discount.

I would like to get people's thoughts about when you should start to consider moving all in in a multi table tournament. I tend to start considering shoving with less than ten big blinds. What are everyone else's thoughts

The U.S. Internet gambling ban passed by Congress several years ago contains a provision that explicitly recognizes the right of individual states to legalize online gambling within their respective jurisdictions. In recent months, the legislatures in California, Iowa and New Jersey also have debated the legalization online gambling.

The state of Florida would take 20% off the top of gross receipts generated by online poker before the major operators and their smaller affiliates split the remaining revenues.

I wonder if anyone knows whether 20% is a higher percentage than what the tax rates on any other business within the state would be.

I don't view it as a good thing to treat online gambling operators different than any other legitimate businesses if they are attempting to make OLG a recognized legitimate business and source of revenue for the state. . .

I've had no luck dep. money into any site lately. Cards that used to work don't anymore. I tried echeck once, didnt work either. I've just heard about a card that supposedly always works. Called All access visa debit. You can find them online at netspend.com. Has anyone used these, seems like a lot of fees. I would like to find something that still works though.

Manne wrote: Visa and MasterCard have both suspended the use of credit card transactions that fund online gambling accounts. The move comes in advance of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act that will require credit card issuers and processors to suspend the accounts of merchants and customers involved in online gambling. The Act is set to become law in June.

Many lawmakers have voiced concerns over the new rules since the law will prevent state lottery and casino boards from authorizing legal online gambling programs.

Veteran online gamblers have already begun to create alternative methods to fund online gambling accounts including retail cashiers and third-party processors.

I use Netspend and have no problem.

Tony Hachem, brother of former WSOP champion Joe, has once again showed that the talent runs in the family by taking down the first run in Perth of the Australia and New Zealand Poker Tour Perth main event.

Battling his way through a field of 221 entrants, Hachem took the main prize of A$132 370, capping his recent impressive run of cashing in four of five events last season. :thumbsup

For now my preferences lie towards having players more aggressive than me to my left and more passive players than me to my right. Or is it the other way around? Doesn't really matter as you really need to figure out how to play in either situation. . .

Your mileage may vary. . .

AGA Changes Position, Now 'Open to the Concept' of Legalizing Online Poker

The American Gaming Association is now “open to the concept of legalized internet gambling,” the association’s president and CEO Frank Fahrenkopf told. (The new position marks a significant change for the powerful lobbying group that had previously remained neutral on the issue.)

A study published this week by a non-profit group called Youth in Distress in Israel (ELEM) details the problems that face Israeli youth. Among those listed are teen pregnancy, sexual violence, illegal drug use, gambling, and loitering. In an effort to raise awareness of these problems, the group launched what they call their Lights of Hope Flag initiative, which involved hanging a luminous Israeli flag, composed of 600,000 lights, off the side of Tel Aviv's Azrieli Towers.

Among the assorted problems outlined by the report, illegal gambling was one of the most prominent. Israeli gambling laws strictly regulate all forms of gambling in the country, and the country has no casinos, making legal gambling hard to come by. Despite this legal situation, gambling and most especially poker are becoming mainstream pastimes among Israeli teens.
