The fifth installment of the Party Poker sponsored World Open poker tournament is scheduled to run from October 11th thru the 15th and the online poker site is offering its users a chance to get in on the action. Party Poker will be running a series of satellites that offer a grand prize package worth $13,000, which includes buy-in and accommodations to the upcoming $10,000 buy-in London event.

The total prize pool up for grabs this year is $480,000

English Poker Open will host a $5,300 buy-in event at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham. The tournament will have a 270 player cap with many top pros expected to attend it. Phil Hellmuth and Doyle Brunson have already confirmed their attendance, along with British pros Joe Beevers and Liv Boeree.

If you are planning to attend this event, Full Tilt Poker are offering satellites. There are only 117 seats left for the $5,300 event which will feature 10k starting stacks and 60-minute blind levels. The English Poker Open will also host a two-day £500 NL Freezout tournament and the whole event will be broadcast on their website.

They have many guaranteed tournaments available, the big action stars on Saturday evening at 5:30pm ET with the $100K Guaranteed Deep Stack poker tournament. The buy-in for this tournament is $300 + $20 and all players will start with 5,000 chips. The “deal making” option is available at the final table.

The second biggest tournament that Absolute Poker offers over the weekend plays out on Sunday at 2pm ET, it has a $100K guaranteed prize pool, all players start with 3,000 chips and the buy-in is $500+ $30. The “deal making” option is available at the final table.

To wrap-up the weekend all poker players will have the chance to enter the $200K guaranteed prize pool. The tournament will be played at 5:30 pm ET and all players will start with 3,000 chips.

There are many satellite tournaments available that will guarantee a seat at these major events at Absolute Poker. For some the buy-in starts at $8 + $0.80. Satellites are held every day and at random hours during the day.

Pokerstars had the rights for many years didnt they ? So why did they let it go to partygaming ? Even if they get alot of money from such deal wasnt the WPT brand worth more to pokerstars than letting a competitor have it ?

Maybe i dont understand every bit of this, but please fill me in.

Party Poker wants to reward all their loyal customers with a new promotion called the Cash Machine. All players have to do is opt in on the promotion for the month of September and play poker. Players will have to earn at least ten Party Poker points on at least 10 days of the promotion. Party Poker will then make a list of the ten days in which the player collected the most Party Poker points, take the lowest of those days, match one dollar per point earned and put the money into the player’s Party Poker account.

Party Poker and Matchroom Sport, the headline sponsors behind the upcoming World Open V, have revealed new details about the poker tournament, including some of the big names who will be in attendance and some major changes to the tournament structure. The tournament is set to take place from October 11th-15th at the Palm Beach Casino in London, England.

Mike Sexton, Ian Frazer, Felipe Ramos, Remy Biechel and newly signed Bodo Sbrzesny would all be playing, but a statement released on Thursday unveiled a long list of big name pros joining them for the tournament.

Online satellites to win a seat into the televised event are still running on Party Poker. Players can win their way into the tournament for as little as $3.

PartyGaming Plc, owner of the PartyPoker.com online gambling site, reported a first-half loss after a year-earlier gain on a $101 million settlement to avoid prosecution by the U.S. over its Web-gambling legislation.

The net loss was $66.9 million, or 16.5 cents per share, compared with a profit of $22.7 million, or 5.3 cents, in the year-earlier period, the Gibraltar-based company said in a statement on Regulatory News Service. PartyGaming’s non- prosecution agreement was announced in April.

Full Tilt Poker has one of the biggest teams of professional online poker players, and with names like Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, Allen Cunningham, Patrik Antonius, and Gus Hansen, they have no shortage of star power on their roster.

Patrik Antonius was down $576K for the month.

Phil Ivey struggled in August as well, losing a whopping $1.8 million dollars.

Gus Hansen, whose account balance took a massive $3 million hit.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan also had a losing month, dumping about $400K.

First pro poker player Clonie Gowen, a former member of Team Full Tilt, slapped the online giant with a $40 million lawsuit. Now Jason Newitt, a one-time employee of Full Tilt who was fired after leaking Howard Lederers infamous email calling Jimmy Gobboboy Fricke a freak, has filed suit in Nevada against his former employers over his dismissal.
