Is it just me that thinks it’s silly that Eredivisie champions and CL Semi finalists ajax will have to go through Qualifying phase? I think Eredivisie should have the top 2 teams qualifying automatically to the group stages That being Ajax and PSV now. Eredivisie is a better League than russian league for me (a league whose top 2 get automatic CL group stage spots)
UEFA Champions League Qualification 2nd Round – Biggest underdogs
The Champions League qualifying stage is starting to hit its stride and here are some of the biggest underdogs that would be pulling off a massive shock if they were to advance from the 2nd round!
This year's Champions League qualifying campaign has already provided us with some fantastic underdog stories with them advancing through such as Saburtalo Tbilisi, Kalju and Sutjeska who defied the odds in the 1st round to get here. We’ve seen Saburtalo Tbilisi defeat Sheriff 4-3 on aggregate despite being tipped at around the odds of 5.00 to advance and beating them away with odds of 11.00 by a 0-3 scoreline! We’ve seen Kalju defeat Shkendija on away goals despite being tipped to advance at 21.00 before the 2nd leg tie which they won and we’ve seen Sutjeska defeat Slovan Bratislava which is easily the biggest upset as they were tipped at 10.00 to advance before the tie even started!
2019-20 UEFA Champions League – Young Players to Watch
The Champions League is just around the corner with it starting this week and here’s a list of some of the top youngsters to watch this season!
Junior Vinicius (Real Madrid): The Real Madrid wonder kid has already broken into the team only at the age of 19 getting a start from time to time and has so far shown some impressive things. He’s a very dangerous quick winger and just the fact alone that he already gets to start from time to time for this club makes him a serious talent. Before his injury last season, he was one of Madrid’s most dangerous players. He has bagged 1 assist in 2 starts and scored a goal which was marginally disallowed for offside. Even with the talent that Madrid have upfront, we should expect Vinicius to get game time and to be a key player for them this season.
