The NBA Board of Governors today unanimously approved rules changes in advance of the 2018-19 season.



Beginning with the 2018 NBA preseason, the shot clock will reset to 14 seconds in offensive rebounding situations, as opposed to 24; the clear path foul rule will be simplified; and the definition of a “hostile act” will be expanded for purposes of triggering instant replay review.

Not that crazy when some of the average league players earning 10-15 million a year. Timberwolves just investing in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if after the 5 years NBA league will be that big that teams would be able to offer 50-60 millions per year. Especially with betting legalized in the USA. Betting market and deals with the bookmakers can also be x factor in the near future.

I don't think that Dwight Howard makes big impact to the game besides all that rebounds, but he surely didn't improve much on the offense and that's one of the key for any big guy in nowadays NBA league. There is some player in NBA who could give a big impact on the court and make changes on the result but Howard is not on that list IMO. I hope so I'm wrong about this and we will see different Dwight Howard.

My thinking is that Dwight is MUCH better than what Gortat has become and him being the athletic beast that he is with a superstar point guard we may see a rejuvenated Howard

Comparing to Gortat I totally agree that he is better overall but I'm not sure that he have that little extra thing or boost to any of the team. Of course he will make efficiency replacing Gortat but if we are talking about Wizards place for contender or conference winner, then I say strong no.
