Game preview : Montreal Masters with all surprises going to end soon, but we still have QF today and a lot of good matches. 112,255 $ and 180 points for players in this round, very solid prize, a lot of points, like winning two challenger titles. Different 8 players in this round, one big surprise is Denis Shapalov who couldn’t manage to win two challenger titles at home, but now he will get a lot of point’s he will go up in rankings. Everyday is different day, so for today we decided to wrote again about Maestro Roger Federer and his opponent from Spain Roberto Agut Bautista. Players knows each other very well, maybe not so well like in yesterday match Roger against David, but still they played together a lot of times before.
Let’s talk about players :
Roger Federer (3) – Maestro is still in very good shape this year, coming back to top 4 was big goal and he made it, now becoming No.1 in world is near to. While Andy is not playing, Roger and Rafael Nadal can become No.1, it is like time machine for us, then Roger and Rafa was in the top. Maestro started this tournament with easy win without any struggles, we believe he is in very good shape, but not the best for now, he is waiting for Us Open. Some people says Roger is better than few years, we can agree with it. Player from Switzerland plays very good tennis, he is still enjoyning it and playing like fresh player, but with all experience he is even more dangerous. Don‘t forget after long years waiting he already won two Grand Slam titles this year.
Roberto Agut – Spanish player like yesterday David Ferrer, but maybe Roberto is looking same like David in physical way, but he plays totally different tennis. Roberto is not tall player at all, he can serve a good serve sometimes, but mostly he uses his head to win, same like David he uses some style of tennis and he is very successful there. 14/4 Score on hard this year and yes, this spaniard really like fast surfaces not only clay. Roberto have best score on hard courts, 204/97 that pretty much impressive. How small player like this from clay surface country can be so good? Well, like we said he uses his own strategy, his coach said : His every opponent is in big trouble, because Roberto is always ready for them, he watches a lot of recordings, does his math and makes a strategy for every player. Also player from Spain is very talented, he have good, strong shots in every direction , nice touch.
Comparing the players : Well, Roger is coming for that No.1 so he will feel a little of pressure, while Bautista won‘t feel any of it, maybe playing with Maestro is always hard, because they played six times before and Roger won all of it. Last time they played two tiebreaks, it was very intense match in Miami this year, they can repeat it. Difference between players is in all ways, Roger is taller, stronger, uses one handed backhand , has a great serve and etc.. Bautista maybe don’t have a lot of it, but he have his mind, his strategy and good tennis, yet 7 younger player from Spain can be more fresh and athletic.
What to expect today ? : Like we said yesterday, we can expect same today, Roger is good, he plays well, but with every round it’s getting harder to compete, he win, but harder and harder. Roberto won’t give up easy that for sure, we guess he made a plan for today, how to play. Yesterday both players had good fights, Bautista maybe lost more energy against Gael Monfils, because his match was very intense. Still both players will give all energy, but Roger can hold up a little energy for next tournaments and maybe won’t play at start with all power, so Bautista can do something today.

    Goffin, David (-1.5 sets) @105 8/10
Geneva ATP Goffin, although already a veteran, knows how to play on clay, it's clear to say that Peru is not a strong opponent, but even still, they were at the highest level. This is a simple Dutchman who is far from scary on clay, and Goffin has won both of his previous matches against Brouwer, the last one in February on hard courts in the Netherlands. So here I believe we can trust Goffin, and being only the 3rd seed in the qualifier, I think he will be focused on Peru and motivated.
