Adrian Mannarino - Sam Querrey

2018/02/17 16:25 Sam Querrey @-159 10/10

Adrian Mannarino has won two matches this week and needed three sets on both occasions. The Frenchman did well to hold off the challenge from the spirited Adrian Menendez-Maceiras.

Adrian Mannarino, the current world #25, had a brilliant 2017 season where he reached his third career ATP World Tour singles final at the 2017 Antalya Open, defeating Borna Coric and Fernando Verdasco en route. At Wimbledon, he upset #19 seed Feliciano Lopez in the first-round and #15 seed Gael Monfils in the third-round. He continued his good form and reached his first career ATP Masters 1000 singles quarter-finals at the 2017 Rogers Cup.

Sam Querrey, who has won more than 60% of his career titles in the home conditions, came into ATP New York Open with just one win under his belt (1/2), having lost two other matches on tour against Vesely and Fucsovics. But the World #12 will now fight for a place in the finals for the first time since Los Cabos in August 2017.

The 26-games match between Querrey and Kralovic lasted just under one hour and 30 minutes, Querrey served 11 aces and did not expose even a single break point chance on his own serve before edging the tiebreaker on both occasions (7-6 7-6).

Even though h2h is in 3-0 Adrian Mannarino favour, Sam is playing at home and can secure one more win. Sam is really good server, he will use it, but on second side he is also quite fast and strong for tall player. Adrian after 2017 superb season will struggle at first in this season i guess

    Karen Khachanov - Casper Ruud

2-0 wins for Ruud and one of those matches was on hard court. This happened a long time ago, but Norway seems quite strong in this tournament and even though Khachanov is the most serious opponent now, he can still be confidently beaten. Karen himself had relatively weak opponents, but still dropped a set and overall the Russian doesn't seem very stable. So when Ruud catches a pretty good form, I think he has a chance to win.
