World Cup for USA is never as important as the Olympics as the top players are simply not too motivated to play. USA’s team isn’t very experienced this year. USA do lack 3 point shooting as they are more built to drive and play fast break basketball from which they mostly get all the points. It’s a young squad and I can see some ball hogging as they will want to show themselves out. Without much shooting it will be tough for USA as team will be able to double team and fill up the paint which is suitable for a team like Serbia with strong bigs like Jokic, Marjanovic, Milutinov. Serbia have a very good defensive team with a solid coach Djordjevic. The odds are worth looking at for a good team like that. Most important thing for Serbia if they were to face USA is that they need to win the boards battle and keep Drummond away from it. Micic and Teodosic are good playmakers and if Serbia make their 3s they will be near unstoppable.
