The Women's Copa America kicks off in Ecuador. Brazil is the favorite not only for this match, but for the entire tournament. The team has been playing high-quality, attacking football lately, something that Brazil and its fans have been longing for. The new (conditional) coach, along with a new generation of players, whom the strategist relies on quite a bit, and the legendary Marta, still leads both on the field and in the dressing room. So far, this combination has been working perfectly in their preparation for the attack. The defense, of course, was not at the same level, but the Japanese were defeated 3-1/2-1 twice, and although the game against France was very good, they lost 2-3 away. Venezuela does not attract opponents of the same level, as they lack a good core in defense to compete against such a strong team in good form. In fact, all of Venezuela's potential lies in their attack and set pieces, where some of the Peruvian players also score. So, even if they were to score a goal, it would not be surprising, but it is clear that Brazil is their main hope.
