Πρώτο ματς για τον δεύτερο προκριματικό του Europa League ανάμεσα στην Ντουναϊσκα και τον Ατρόμητο. Θα ακολουθήσει ρεβάνς την ερχόμενη εβδομάδα στο Περιστέρι. Ο νικητής του ζευγαριού θα αντιμετωπίσει στην επόμενη φάση το νικητή του ζευγαριού Λέγκια Βαρσοβίας (Πολωνία) – Κουόπιο (Φινλανδία).

Η δευτεραθλήτρια Σλοβακίας, Ντουνάισκα Στρέντα έκανε τελικά την έκπληξη στον προηγούμενο γύρο και απέκλεισε την Κρακόβια. Παρά το γεγονός πως παραχώρησε ισοπαλία 1-1 στο πρώτο ματς στην έδρα της , στην ρεβάνς με την ισοπαλία με το ίδιο σκορ οδήγησε το ματς στην παράταση όπου και τελικά πήρε την πρόκριση στην επόμενη φάση. Δεν έχει εμπειρία από ευρωπαικές διοργανώσεις καθώς φέτος είναι η δεύτερη (συνεχόμενη) χρονιά που μετέχει στα προκριματικά μετά το μακρινό 1993 και ως εκ τούτου δεν έχει συμμετάσχει ποτέ σε ομίλους. Την Κυριακή ξεκίνησε και το εγχώριο πρωτάθλημα το οποίο ξεκίνησε με νίκη καθώς επιβλήθηκε της Ζλάτε Μοράφτσε εκτός έδρας με 2-1.

Ο Ατρόμητος συγκαταλέγεται δίκαια τα τελευταία χρόνια στους μεγάλους του Ελληνικού πρωταθλήματος και πέρσι τερματίζοντας στην 4η θέση του Ελληνικού πρωταθλήματος εξασφάλισε την συμμετοχή του στον δεύτερο προκριματικό γύρο.Όπως είναι λογικό ο πήχης παραμένει ψηλά και στόχος είναι η είσοδος στους ομίλους της διοργάνωσης με πρώτο εμπόδιο την ομάδα της Σλοβακίας. Σε σύγκριση με το περσινό ρόστερ έχει αρκετές αλλαγές σε παίχτες αλλά στον πάγκο της και σίγουρα θα υπάρχει στην αρχή των πρώτων επίσημων παιχνιδιών θέμα ομοιογένειας. Άλλωστε αυτό φάνηκε και στα φιλικά προετοιμασίας που έδωσε στα οποία η αλήθεια είναι πως δεν έπεισε και προβλημάτισε με την απόδοση του.

Πιο έτοιμη η Ντουνάισκα, έχει περισσότερα παιχνίδια στα πόδια της και για αυτό έχει τον πρώτο λόγο για την νίκη. Ο Ατρόμητος από την άλλη ναι μεν έχει αρκετές αλλαγές στο ρόστερ του σε σύγκριση με την περσινή ομάδα αλλά παραμένει μια ποιοτική ομάδα και μπορεί να πάρει το αποτέλεσμα που θέλει.
