Emiliana Arango's season in Ghana has been tragic on clay courts, as she often falls in the first rounds. Furthermore, her results in Pan-American tournaments and Europe differ greatly, with much weaker performances in Europe. Leolia Jeanjean, on the other hand, had a strong start to the season and even managed to win a set against Zakharova in Osaka. She should continue to thrive and now has the added motivation of playing in front of her home crowd after her recent success.
