A match between tennis players of a similar ranking, although the Russian is significantly more capable both in terms of ability and form. Safiullin played in Adelaide this week where he was stopped only by Shapavalov in the round of 16, and Thompson is nowhere near that level of tennis player. Safiullin is a clear matcho favorite and I take his minus here. Thompson didn't stand much of a chance against Halys and it will be the same here against Safiullin
