Although De Bruyne is a key player on the team in attack, he is more of a winger than a withdrawn player, therefore he is not heavily involved in creating opportunities in the first phase of the Belgian national team. Belgium does not strive for such a possession-based play, so his stats are more focused on his performance in City's game. This season, he averaged around 56 passes, of which only 46 were accurate.
