Two equal teams, both started the tournament differently, Slovenians lost to the Spaniards with a score of 22-25, while Croatians beat the Japanese with a score of 30-29. Slovenians have a powerful composition, most players play in the strongest German or French leagues, and in January's European Championship they finished 6th. Meanwhile, Croatians did not even make it out of the group. Just over half of the teams play in the Croatian or Hungarian leagues. Overall, they haven't demonstrated anything particularly impressive in recent years, so I don't know why they are considered such strong favorites here.
