Olympics. Basketball. Japan vs Brazil. We are rooting for the Japanese team. The Japanese look very likable in the Olympics. Even though they lost to Germany, they put up a good fight. In the second game against France, they were robbed by them. Kawamura looks amazing, Hachimura seemed to have recovered after the first game against the Germans, and Hawkinson plays decently, given the circumstances, but I believe we can still expect more from Watanabe. In terms of star power, Japan appears more serious to me than Brazil.
Brazil, on the other hand, does not impress me. Against the French, they started off well, but then completely fell apart. Against the Germans, they recovered after a rough start, but then collapsed again. Caboclo commits too many foolish fouls and gets himself removed from the game, and if not for Yago, the team would look very bad. Meindl, who seemed confident in the Olympic selections, now looks very poor. It seems that Caboclo's recklessness is rubbing off on him and he is also making silly mistakes. They push, they fight, they gather fouls on offense, in other words, they provide a bad example.
Before the second round, I thought I would support Brazil, but I was greatly disappointed by them, and I believe the Japanese team has what it takes to beat them. The odds for Japan winning by 2 points satisfy me, so we'll give it a try. Good luck.
