The 21-year-old American is very unpredictable and difficult to predict, as his ranking does not reflect his abilities. Chile has already warmed up and arrives as a strong competitor, as shown by the decreasing odds, so I trust the veteran who, like Gasquet, I believe can still bring out the maximum potential.

No matter how poor of form Popyrin may be, for me he is an underdog here because Medvedev himself is having a tragic season by his standards. I believe we should expect either a very persistent 2 set match or go all the way to the third set. Medvedev struggled against his first opponent, barely winning 7-6 6-4, so I think this will be an even tougher match for him. They have played 5 matches against each other, and 3 of them were very close battles.
