Mclaren has a better car, but Piastri is facing a very long period until reaching the top 6. Another thing, when you are at the back of the pack, there is a higher chance of getting into an incident or getting stuck behind competitors. No matter how good the Mclaren car is, I don't think Piastri will be able to reach the top 6.
