WBSC Premier 12... features the world's top twelve national teams, divided into two groups competing for the highest prizes (previously known as the World Championship). In this tournament, the head-to-head history is more favorable to Australia, but that was a long time ago. In the first matches, Australia lost to Japan, while the Dominican team started the tournament against Peru, then went on to defeat Chinese Taipei. Today, the Dominican team relies on their twenty-two-year-old pitcher Luis Vargas, who honed his skills at the Milwaukee Academy and currently plays in the country's league. Although the official start of Australia's national baseball championship ABL is today, the country's most talented athletes have been called to participate in this tournament. Today, we choose the highly progressing Dominican Republic over Peru.
