These competitions are only a formality for Portugal. Croatia needs at least some points to secure the second place, so they have a reason to play - the support of their home fans and the desire to defeat a strong opponent. Ronaldo, Bruno, Bernando, Ruben, and Jota will not play for Portugal. They are all very important players.
