Arthur Fils - Joao Fonseca

Now, the young tennis player is returning a bit. Fils lost unexpectedly in the final here last year. I fully believe that this year he wants and can take the title. The court speed here is similar to Paris, which I think suits his playing style. Fonseca himself is not the typical South American player who mainly plays on clay. He can also play on hard courts, but there is a complete mismatch for Fils here. We're talking about an ATP high-level player and a Challenger-level player who is trying to break into the higher ranks. Fonseca's main weapon is his forehand. If he gets comfortable balls, he can easily end points with a winner or hit them out and make unforced errors, but Fils himself will most likely be dictating points here, especially through his serves. I don't think there will be too many problems for the Frenchman. The first match may feel nerve-wracking for Brazil. Experience will also have an impact, I believe. I hope for an easy win for Fils.

    F. Passaro - A. Blockx

    F. Passaro @175 8/10
    ATP Metz. France.
The Belgian Blockx is arriving after a recently won tournament, just two days ago he played in the final and now he's here. Young, inexperienced and the form of such players after winning tournaments tends to decline. In general, the end of the season and the built-up workload throughout the season make it a challenge to play at such a fast pace again. Meanwhile, Passaro has already warmed up in France, playing and confidently winning 2 matches in the qualifiers. I believe Blockx should not be such a clear favorite today, and I would even rate their chances equally, or maybe even more in favor of Passaro due to a packed schedule at the end of the season, where he has had more time to rest.
