Even though Katie is not bad, this season is weak on hard courts. Last year, she achieved a decent level in America, but this season she hasn't proven anything and it seems like she will fall even lower very quickly. She has performed very neatly in Asia so far, reaching the quarterfinals and losing to Gauff, which is understandable. However, judging by her form, she can definitely continue to successfully compete. From what I have seen with Birrell, the Australian already gave up the match, while the German may give some opportunities for breaks, but I don't think she is in good enough shape to beat Katie in two sets.

I believe there is too high of a coefficient for players like Boulter. She is not as bad as twice being rated weaker. Of course, Lys is playing well now, but Boultier can fire and win this match. Lys did not have a good match against Golubic, while Boultier played decent against Birell. I would not rate Birell very highly, especially since she defeated Bouzkova.
