Stefanos Tsitsipas - amad Medjedovic

Tsisipas did not play after Rotterdam and had a couple of weeks of rest, while Medjedovic, who played the final on Sunday in France, is flying to Qatar and will face a tough opponent on Tuesday. Although Medjedovic played well in the final, he gave his all but simply ran out of energy and suffered a psychological breakdown. After playing a grueling tournament and traveling 5000km, it is unrealistic to expect someone who only recently emerged from challenger tournaments to play against a high-level tennis player and perform well.

    Karen Khachanov - Casper Ruud

2-0 wins for Ruud and one of those matches was on hard court. This happened a long time ago, but Norway seems quite strong in this tournament and even though Khachanov is the most serious opponent now, he can still be confidently beaten. Karen himself had relatively weak opponents, but still dropped a set and overall the Russian doesn't seem very stable. So when Ruud catches a pretty good form, I think he has a chance to win.
