On the AO court, Tirante was hindered by Fonseca's presence, and then climbed on the ground where he also started unsuccessfully. It was quite surprising to see these dry defeats there, but he had to prepare in time. Overall, Tirante is a pretty good player, last year he had some success on clay, defeating Rublev. Martin also struggled on the hard court, not having much experience on clay, although he did have some success in Peru, but mostly in ITF tournaments.
