Ethan Quinn - Jordan Thompson

Experienced 30-year-old and very stable J. Thompson (ranked 37th in the ATP) meets with the young 21-year-old American Quinn. A true hard-court specialist and a strong competitor, Australian Thompson is a well-known face in this tournament, having participated in it every year since 2018. While he may not have made it to the semifinals in this tournament, he is always a dangerous opponent for any serious tennis player, and is certainly too much for the young American to handle. Although Quinn has a good record of 19 wins and 9 losses on hard courts this season, his positive statistics only include challenger tournaments, and he has no chance against a strong opponent. In my opinion, the odds are quite high, as Thompson is coming off a successful tournament in Miami, while the young American was humiliated in the same tournament by the 129th ranked Schoolkate with a score of 6-0, 6-2. As this is the first match between these two players in this tournament, we should trust the experience and significantly better skills of Thompson from Peru.

    (Casper Ruud) @115 10/10
2-0 wins for Ruud and one of those matches was on hard court. This happened a long time ago, but Norway seems quite strong in this tournament and even though Khachanov is the most serious opponent now, he can still be confidently beaten. Karen himself had relatively weak opponents, but still dropped a set and overall the Russian doesn't seem very stable. So when Ruud catches a pretty good form, I think he has a chance to win.
