Marta Kostyuk, although she really wants to beat the Russians, has no resources left at all. In the third set yesterday, she could barely hold on and had a hard time keeping up with longer rallies, representing a struggle for Ukraine. It must be noted that Kostyuk has had a series of exhausting matches. Potapova, although she sometimes makes mistakes, looked much fresher and had more power, even in her serves and movement, compared to the Russian. Additionally, Potapova has already overcome serious opponents, such as Ghana.
