Neither clay nor hard court shine for both, rarely does the final victory go, but this season Sabalenka has been consistent, with many finals, and also won here in Madrid a year ago, although she lost in the final of Peru, where the surface is very fast and favorable for the Belarusian. Cori Gauff's season so far has been disappointing, not reaching even the semifinals of a normal tournament, but here the American seems more focused and plays good tennis. But I simply don't believe that Gauff is currently capable of defeating Sabalenka again in consecutive H2H matches, somehow I think her stability will falter and her usual double faults will start.
