Even after the first series of games, Florida is already a much better team than before, both in defense and offense... The Carolina ship has almost sunk, only delaying their defeat against Florida by a couple of days... That 0-3 loss was the first time in the series that they allowed over 2 goals, and it took 2 saves in the last 2 minutes without a goalkeeper for Florida to secure the win... Florida's defense has been strong on the road since the Toronto series, with only 1, 1, 2 and 0 goals allowed in their last 4 away games (2 against Toronto and 2 against Carolina). Seeing how dominant Oilers are in the other conference, Florida wants to finish the series as soon as possible and not waste their valuable energy in a series that is essentially already lost.
