These competitions have the potential to become a blood lake ... Currently, both teams share first place in the group with 4 points, but they have played evenly with Monterrey, who is in 3rd place with 2 points. Now Mexico will play against the easiest opponent in the group, Urawa, while Inter and River Plate will battle each other. The situation in this group is very favorable for Mexico, as at least a minimal victory over Peru and a draw against Inter would push them to 1st or 2nd place, eliminating Inter (due to their missed opportunities) and therefore leaving only Inter and River Plate to play for victories against Peru. Another important aspect that motivates these teams to win is to top the group and move to the easier draw side, while the second place would play against the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and PSG in the draw.
