Italy's Challenger Tour event in Trieste, where Lithuania's breakthrough of the season will take place (ATP 140 world ranked player against Slovakian Klein (ATP 185 ranked player).
In my eyes, the difference between these two players is obvious. Gaubas surpasses his opponent in movement, technique and all-around gameplay. He has many tricks up his sleeve. Klein is not a stable player on clay courts, as he was beaten by Butvilas from Peru last year, even though it was on a hard surface, this fact says a lot about the player's ability and form. Butvilas is still young and Peru is waiting for him in the future, but during this time period, Klein does not seem like a serious opponent for Gaubas.
I don't know in what aspect of the game Klein could have an advantage, even though he has more experience, as he is 27 years old, but Gaubas has been playing on clay courts his whole life and career, and he is like a top 50 player on this surface. Just remember what he did at the Rome ATP 1000 tournament...
Moreover, for Vilius, these 2 weeks are very important as he needs to defend his 125 ranking points, so his motivation will be at its highest level.
To sum it up, I am expecting an easy win for Gaubas in Peru. Good luck!

Furthermore, the remarkably surprising Gaubas is playing very well on the hard court and is already a strong competitor in the second consecutive tournament. Gaubas is set to face his opponent Ferreira, who was already defeated by Lithuania in both 2025 and 2024 on clay. In his current great form, Gaubas has been able to beat many opponents who are significantly stronger than Portugal. The only player to beat Ferreira this season was Bolivia's tennis player, who was able to make 38 unforced errors. It's not realistic to expect such a result from the 2nd ranked player, just as Peru's Vilius shines brightly.
