In this ITF tournament, the Brazilian player Gabriela, a 32-year-old veteran, will try her luck against a French opponent. She mostly plays on clay courts and usually makes it to the first rounds of these kinds of tournaments and wins at least one ITF title every season. She is a small player, specialized in playing on clay. However, she has not had many big wins recently and her opponent today is not very impressive on clay.
Amandine Monnot has already passed the qualifications for this tournament, defeating some weak opponents. In lower ranking ITF tournaments in May, she managed to reach the final, but her opponents were not well-known. She suffered a leg injury in the semifinals of Kursumlijska Banja 2 ITF on May 3rd and since then, her ranking has dropped to the first or second round, even when playing against weaker opponents.
