UNLV started the season fiercely, their offense working in top gear although they only played 2 games. UNLV won both games, 38-31 and 38-21, averaging 38 points per game. UCLA's season started differently, with a loss in their first game, 10-43, against the significantly better Utah team who exposed UCLA's defense. Meanwhile, UCLA's offense failed to show up, but knowing UNLV's playing style, they will have opportunities to showcase their offense today, giving hope for a high point total.
