18-year-old Russian talent Alina Korneeva plays at the Evora ITF on hard courts. Not only does she compete in ITF matches, but she has also had success in Grand Slam tournaments without any embarrassment. At the 2024 Australian Open Grand Slam, she made it to the second round. However, she suffered an injury at the beginning of 2024 and was unable to play for about six months, resulting in a slight decline in her performance. Since mid-2025, she has regained her form and has already won an ITF title. This year, she has defeated stronger opponents such as Bondar, Rakotomanga Rajaonah T., Quevedo K., Fruhvirtova L., and Bektas. Her playing abilities continue to improve, although her stability is a cause for concern, as she tends to relax when playing against weaker opponents.
On the other side, Eva Guerrero Alvarez from Spain has won three ITF titles on hard courts this year, but in late May, she suffered an injury and was unable to play for about two months. Her results have significantly declined since then, with the exception of one quarterfinal appearance in an ITF tournament. Since then, she has not been able to achieve much, often losing in the first round of ITF matches. In comparison, Korneeva, who has powerful strokes, would not present much of a challenge for her.
