WTA Brisbane, in both of the last years did not perform well on hard courts. Opponents were mostly weak and the head-to-head record is 3:0 in favor of Belarusian Sasnovich, so I think it's time for Russian Blinkova to take the win. Especially since this will be Blinkova's first match of the season, she should be full of energy, motivation and determination. We can expect a strong game from Blinkova, especially in the early stages of the tournament, as her previous season ended with a win at a decent challenger in China. The 24-year-old Russian has wins against top players like Pegula and Rybakina. Sasnovich's game is very unpredictable, even between sets there can be drastic changes. She had an easy match against Tomova in this tournament, but had to play three sets against Timofeeva. Looking at her results in the past year, she has lost to weaker players like Ito, Wei, Failla Dollehide, Lamens, Sonmez, and Osuigwe, so I would say Blinkova has a good chance.
