There are smaller WTA tournaments here, so the opportunity for lower-ranked players to shine on hard courts is not very quick. There is a high chance that players of shorter stature can dominate here, ones who are used to playing on a surface between hard and clay courts.
One of these options is 24-year-old Colombian Osorio, who has good technique and can play well in the early stages, as well as being from South America herself. Osorio has had a decent season so far, winning a good challenger event in Manilla and performing well in Doha.
Another option is the 23-year-old Indonesian player, who is also a skilled player from Ghana. She has mostly made it to the second round this year, although she may face more challenging opponents.
