Although not in the best form, Ajax did not have a successful end to the last period of matches that could have been crucial in the fight for qualification to the EL or CL. Statistically, Ajax didn't perform poorly, but they missed opportunities. On paper, Ajax is a better team, and I believe they will show a better game today. The opponent is not particularly threatening, having barely secured 9th place in the league, thanks in part to Sparta Rotterdam's tragic performance. The odds seem to favor Groningen, who won 3-1 in the last match, but statistically they were not superior to Ajax either.
