Noskova won the previous tournament in Berlin where she showed an impressive performance. She only lost 1 set to Pegula in the final. But Pegula is a top player. Up until then, Noskova easily passed through all rounds and did not use up much energy. So today she should be fairly fresh.
Ruse is not strong on grass. This makes it even more difficult for her to face Noskova.
Noskova has a very strong serve. She generates a lot of free points (aces+winners). On fast courts, if she can hold her serve for a long time and put pressure on Ruse's returns. Ruse often struggles to handle a strong first serve, especially against top servers like Noskova.
Noskova plays a 1-3 shot game, while Ruse is more defensive and likes long rallies. But natural grass weakens Ruse's style of play.
Another thing is Ruse has an inconsistent second serve, resulting in many double faults. She is prone to breaking under pressure, while Noskova's style is aggressive returns and early offense.
Noskova often handles underdogs well, while Ruse rarely comes back against top servers when she falls behind.
I don't see how Ruse could seriously challenge Noskova, unless it's simply a bad day for Noskova.
