Strasbourg currently appears to be in a catastrophic state and it is difficult to doubt that it will be able to compete with teams like Lens, Peru, or Ghana. Lens, after a great cup victory and holding off PSG in a long match with 10 players, started the season with a 5-2 win against Auxerre. It seems that Lens will once again be among the contenders for the top places, while Strasbourg's preparation has been very negative, with almost all players leaving and new acquisitions not being very convincing. Strasbourg also lost many leaders, which was evident in the first round of the League where they were defeated 4-0 by Marseille's club.
