EPL: Tottenham - Chelsea Match Betting Preview

This Saturday evening we have a clash between two of the best as Tottenham host Chelsea at Wembley. Chelsea will be eager to get their revenge against Spurs after losing their 27 year unbeaten run to them at Stamford Bridge 8 months ago. Chelsea are currently 3rd just one point above 4th place Spurs and a win for both teams here is necessary if they want to keep pace with the top 2 teams in the league. Spurs have played most of their games away from home this season so they’ll be glad to be back playing at their temporary home. Spurs are coming off a 0-1 win at Palace while Chelsea have drawn their recent match frustratingly against Everton 0-0. This is a big game for both title and top 4 implications!

Team News

Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs will be missing some key players for this game. Davinspn Sanchez and Keiran Trippier are both out while Jan Vertonghen will have to face late fitness tests to determine whether he can return after being absent for 2 months. Juan Foyth may have to  fill in the void at CB again if Vertonghen can’t go while Aurier will start at LB. Danny Rose is still out and so is Moussa Dembele. These injuries are for sure big blows for Spurs but so far this season they’ve been able to shake that off, however coming up against Chelsea this many injuries are definitely not a good sign.

Chelsea: Chelsea have got a fully healthy squad for this game. Kovacic had picked up an injury but is now injury free coming into this game and is expected to start instead of Barkley as he’s done throughout the season in big games. We anticipate Sarri to start the same team as he did against Everton with Morata up front and Willian starting over Pedro on the right and Hazard to start on the left. Elsewhere expect the same names to start in their positions.

Betting Tips and Predictions

We have Chelsea tipped as slight favourites (2.61) over Spurs (2.85) for this game and understandably so. Chelsea have played better football this season and have a fully healthy squad while Spurs have been injury riddled coming into this game. That being said, Spurs are playing at “home” so the odds are pretty close between the sides. The question is however, can Spurs overcome their losing run to Chelsea at Wembley and it looks quite unlikely as they simply just don’t have most of their 1st choice backline healthy. Chelsea to win or even a safer 0.0 handicap is worth the try here. We anticipate goals to be scored given that these teams like to get forward so BTTS and over 2.5 goals is a good option. In terms of goal scorers, Tottenham’s Dele Alli loves playing Chelsea and is priced to score at 4.20 which definitely has value and is worth a low stake. Our prediction for this game is a 1-2 win for Chelsea
