EPL: Everton vs Manchester City Betting Preview

This evening we have a crucial Premier League match as struggling Everton host title chasing Manchester City at the Goodison Park!

Manchester City are coming to Goodison in hopes of returning back to the top of the table albeit having played a game more over Liverpool.

Man City are currently 3 points off the league leaders after being behind by 7 to start the year which has definitely brought them right back into the title race with Liverpool.

Man City have won every game bar one where they lost to Newcastle in 2019 and are currently looking like the City of last season/start of this season as they have been scoring for fun and demolishing teams again.

Man City are coming off a big 3-1 win over Arsenal this weekend where Sergio Aguero bagged a hattrick.

Sergio Aguero has shown some incredible form these past few games having scored in 4 consecutive games totalling 6 in this run.

Man City’s opponents Everton have really been inconsistent this season. They have won 5 and lost 5 of their last 10 and in general sitting in 9th place with 36:36 GD and winning less than half of their games at home, Everton have simply not lived up to expectations this season.

Everton have been very shaky at the back which is probably their biggest worry coming into this game against such an attacking powerhouse in Man City.

Everton are coming off a very disappointing 1-3 loss to Wolves which has put them 5 points below European places.

Despite their defensive struggles, Everton are still quite a dangerous team to go up against at Goodison. Everton have got decent attacking players who can absolutely cause problems for City. Richarlison (10) and Sigurdsson (9) mainly stand out having combined for 19 of Everton’s 36 league goals this season and will be the key if Everton want to win this evening.

Everton are yet to win against a big 6 side. Most of their big games were played away where they lost to Liverpool 1-0, Arsenal 2-0, Man Utd 2-1, drew with Chelsea 0-0. Their only big game at Goodison was against Spurs where they got absolutely demolished 2-6.

Man City have defeated Everton in the reverse fixture 3-1 at the Etihad. They also won at Goodison in their last visit here by the same score 1-3 last season. Prior to that it seemed like Everton had City’s numbers with numerous good results against them but it seems now that City are the team that are the dominant one in the H2H.

Man City are clear cut favourites to win this evening at 1.32. Looking at recent form and the level differential of teams plus combined that this game is FAR more important to City, it’s quite understandable why they’re such favourites. Everton to win is 9.80, Draw 5.95. Odds based of Unibet.
