UEFA Nations League: Spain vs England Betting Tips

Spain host England in hopes of officially clinching a place in the Semi Final at the UEFA Nations League. After playing amazing football last month, Spain have continued that form as they beat Wales a few days back 1-4 in a friendly whereas England were held by a Croatia to a 0-0 draw and seemingly are in a relegation battle unless they can pull off a win here. Spain won at Wembley 1-2 last month and they are highly favoured to pick up a win against England again at home.

Team News

Spain: Spain will of course be missing Isco who is absent from the team this month due to his surgery back a few weeks ago. However, they have everyone else available. Also RB Carvajal is absent with an injury therefore Azpilicueta is expected to fill at RB. Against Wales we saw a mix of 1st and 2nd string players feature and we can expect some changes coming into this game. Asensio, Busquets and Nacho are likely to return into the starting line-up meanwhile Rodrigo could potentially start over Morata if Enrique chooses so after Rodrigo put together some impressive performances last month. We can expect the red hot Paco Alcacer to fill the void of Isco. Elsewhere Ramos, de Gea, Saul are all expected to start too.

England: Gareth Southgate will be missing 2 of his key players in Stones and Henderson who are suspended for this game therefore there will be opportunities for others. Joe Gomez is a likely replacement for Stones with Dunk being the other option whereas Winks is expected to fill the void of Henderson with Mount being the other midfield option. Elsewhere we shouldn’t expect any changes from the team that started against Croatia with Kane Sterling and Rashford leading the front line. We saw the 18 year old Jadon Sancho feature off the bench and we may get an opportunity to see him again late in the game. Southgate used a 4-3-3 formation on Friday and will likely stay with it.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Spain are tipped as big favourites here and rightly so. Spain to win has now dropped to around 1.65 therefore we’re going to look at a handicap. Spain -1 handicap holds a ton of value, even the -1.5 is worth the look given how well Spain are playing right now. Spain are simply the better side, they proved it at Wembley and now at home where they’re pretty much invincible it’d be hard to expect for England to stand much of a chance. We’re looking at a potential 2-0/3-0 win for Spain they will dominate this match and with the red hot scoring form that they’re showing they’ll take their chances. England’s record against top opposition is awful, they will be missing many key players and they will lose. Paco to score anytime is worth the look, he scores a goal every 27 minutes this season for club and country so if a chance falls he’ll score for sure.
