The last remaining Grand Slam of 2025 is almost upon us as the biggest stars in Men’s Tennis look set to descend on Flushing Meadows.
Therefore, us at Betblog wanted to analyse who the favourites are for the upcoming 2025 Men’s US Open and how they’re preparing for the showpiece.
Here are the five favourites to be crowned Men’s US Open champion ahead of the tournament:
Jannik Sinner 11/10 (betway)
It’s no surprise that Italian Jannik Sinner is the pre-tournament favourite to lift the trophy. The 23-year-old has already won the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year, whilst he’s also the defending champion in this tournament having won it in 2024. Sinner beat home favourite Taylor Fritz in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 to claim, what was at the time, his first Grand Slam title. Sinner, who has been world number one since June 2024, has gone from strength to strength since that first title and will certainly be the man to beat on the hard court.
One thing that is important to keep an eye on is how Sinner performs at the Cincinnati Open in Ohio, with the event scheduled to take place between August 7 and 18. Sinner hasn’t played since Wimbledon and will be looking to defend his Cincinnati title. Everything suggests he’ll come back in good form and fitness but it’s a tournament that often provides a clue to who will do well at the US Open in September. But as things stand now, it’s no surprise Sinner is the favourite.
Carlos Alcaraz 2/1 (betway)
Just behind Sinner in the betting is Carlos Alcaraz who is 2/1 to regain the trophy he won in 2022. The 22-year-old Spaniard won the other Grand Slam this year that Sinner didn’t, the French Open that finished in early June. However, Alcaraz struggled in last year’s US Open as he lost in straight sets to dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp in the second round. That was Alcaraz’s worst performance in a Grand Slam since 2021 when he was just 18 years of age. As such, Alcaraz will be desperate to put in a much better fortnight at Flushing Meadows this time around and be able to challenge Sinner for the title. Being ranked second in the world will help him to an easier side of the draw, at least on paper anyway.
Novak Djokovic 6/1 (betway)
Betway has Novak Djokovic third in the market currently at 6/1 to lift the trophy for fourth time. The Serbian first won this tournament back in 2011, when Sinner was 8-years-old and Alcaraz was 7-years-old. That just shows the successful career the now 38-year-old has had in the sport and why he’s widely seen as one of the best to ever play the game. However, age might be slowly catching up with him now as he hasn’t won a Grand Slam since winning the US Open in 2023. There’s no denying Djokovic has the quality to win the tournament but whether he can
Alexander Zverev 10/1 (betway)
Fourth on the list is German Alexander Zverev who is priced at 10/1 to claim his first Grand Slam title. The world number 3 was so close to winning this title in 2020 when he was two sets up over Dominic Thiem in the final but ended up losing the deciding set via a tiebreak. He’s had major success though, notably the 2021 Olympic Games, so knows he can deliver on the big stage. With Sinner and Alcaraz looking to be at the top of the sport for years to come, the German knows he’ll have to beat them at some point if he is to land a major slam.
Jack Draper 12/1 (betway)
The fifth favourite to win the US Open with betway is Brit Jack Draper, who is priced at 12/1. The 23-year-old burst onto the scene in this tournament last year when he made it all the way to the semi-final. The left-handed player is showing real promise and his each-way chances of making it to the final could be worth a bet. If he continues to progress as he has done in the last two years, he’ll be pushing to win a Grand Slam in the coming months or years.
