That site has posted in their rules that ixgames passwords are forbidden. That's the good part but there are always some people that never read any rules. Eventually most visitors at that site will know ixgames passwords are forbidden to share. There are a few that reminds others about the rules.

Anyway, what I also wanted to let you know is that ixgames will never become a password sharing forum. We are slowly building and creating freerolls for all of you that are members here. We have opened up new forum categories for the poker playing crowd.

We have plans for the future to make this forum more active and help both the growth and becoming a tighter community.

We have our eyes on pokerfreerollpasswords and a handfull of ixgames forum members usually reports about shared passwords as well.

Cheers
Just joined and noticed the freeroll password question. I, like many of you, enjoy poker and the freeeolls are an inducement for and benefit of mwmbership. "We" all join more than one site for amy number of reasons. One of the groups I'm a member of has freerolls which they sponsor/promote and handle there passwords through postings prior to tournaments through use of their forum as a riddle with clues and a final posting just prior to registration start. This, at least, gives everyone a heads up and early registry can be achieved by figuring out the clues. Numerical passwords wouldn't work at this. Just prior to tourney start, maybe 1/2 hour, the password is given. This allows those who couldn't figure it out, a chance just prior to start. Special freerolls are handled via email. They also handle thru a chat room, which repeats the clues but refers everyone to the forum for final reveal.

Numeric passwords are more difficult. Perhaps posting passwords for limited, scheduled times might help. Say posting for 1 hour, 4 times daily daily and just prior to tourney would help.

The biggest draw back to any plan, is setup and maintenance. However, that could work itself down to a routine and, if shared by a trusted group of members, could be a routine task whose responsiblity could be rotated and voluntary.

Just some thoughts. I needed to get off of tables and happened across here. Any change could "ruffle some feathers". The question is how serious is the problem, really, and would any proposed solution be too much of a headache?

Regards

I find this amuzing since it is the one who wrote this quote that is banned at other forums for leaking pws...which is why there is a crackdown on his forum and other pw thieves at poker sites by freezing their accounts...:1orglaugh

People here do not understand. There is no stealing passwords of from this site, THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. The problem is members from this site post the password on a password-stealing site. MEMBERS HERE AND OTHER FORUMS JOIN JUST FOR THE PASSWORDS. They get credits for sharing passwords. What they do with the credits I have no idea. Therefore, unless the freeroll’s are restricted there is no way to stop it. :crying

You're not going to be able to stop the password sharing as far as just registering members I think there is enough sitouts as it is. Every tourney I have played whether it is Ixgames or another forum, people pre register and there are sitouts galor. Good luck to everyone.

I do know that most forums don't allow pw sharing without speaking to admins of that site and if the admiins of this site contact the other site the passwords will not be posted there anymore.

The same one's that are thieving the passwords instead of just signing up to a forum (I mean really.... how hard is it?) seem to also be the same one's acting like jerks on the tables. Seems to be alot of players from Brazil who are infiltrating the priv. freerolls these days😟

I joined pokerfreerollpasswords just so I could see if they are posting freeroll passwords for the forums I have joined. I call the intruders "RailJumpers". They want the password, but do not want to be an active member of a forum. You can call me the Poker Police, cause I will call them out. Usually when I cannot find the persons name on the forum, I figure someone shared the password. At IXG you do not have to be an active member just a member, so it is no need to share the pw. Being active is a perk. It helps you meet new people and learn about poker. So to all "RailJumpers", work for your password like everyone else. PS: I am not an active member of PFP. I just go to see what pws are being released. X

It is no true way to stop pw stealing. Someone is always gonna have a lazy friend that will beg for the password. I have people PM or email me asking for the password. LAZEE! X

I just joined today and among other reasons, I want to legitimately participate in the freerolls.
Password pirates and porch monkeys are the plaques of the freeroll communities. Although it can't be a 100% stopped, it can be dramatically reduced.
Although this suggestion may be cutting my own nuts, I hope that the adm might grant me an exception.
Either email or personal message the pass to members that have x number of meaningfull posts or replies to posts.
I would suggest it be reasonable or it might kill new signups.

The best way to prevent this from happening is to use a "Ticket" or "Coupon" entry system. Have a means for registering members on the site for the event 24 hours in advance of tournament, then admins can get the details out to Bodog, or whatever site you choose, and it will put an absolute stop to any authorized users that have not registered on the website. We use this on another poker forum community and it works great. Cuts down on donks and assholes, that's for sure.

I agree with the password sent out 5mins before the tourney starts. it minimizes the number of players and (hopefully) real members are the only one
playing. and no sitouts as well.

Played in the Ftilt game yesterday, (won.25 woowhoo) and sure enough there were several players that were pirates and at least 3 were from Brazil. Listing the tourneys on a calendar and posting the pass 5min. before the tourney begins would probably help alot. Still gonna get a few pirates, but there will be significately less by far.
