Go All In, Inc, makers of All In Energy Drink, a beverage that purports to offer "healthergy" to poker players and wannabes, has appointed an "advisory board," has appointed an advisory board to help guide the product in the future. All In has multiple poker pro endorsements, including Johnny Chan, Phil Gordon, Chris Moneymaker and Scotty Nguyen. The comments coming from the company are fascinating, as they show a brand that uses poker effectively in the business world.
Go All In President and CEO, David Powley, said in a press release, "We are overwhelmed with the caliber and talent of all of our dedicated and professional Advisors and, as All In Energy products cater initially to the Professional Poker Society, we are very fortunate that Phil Atwell has agreed to Chair this Advisory Board with his substantial experience in the entertainment world."
"This is the platform that will help Go All In Inc. express to, and impress upon, the vast consumer audience that our products are not just another brand of energy mixers for the juvenile jet set; we offer healthy energy (thus the term "healthergy") based products which will help all demographics everyday."
While the efficacy of energy drinks is something that is debated by scientists and nutritionists, the rise of a non-poker product that is so heavily vested in the game is fascinating: does the game of poker add something to the brand's value from people who don't play the game, or is it a non-issue to a group of buyers who'll take anything that purports to offer them a boost when they're out clubbing? Or, heck, is there enough money in catering exclusively to poker players at events to justify such a massive brand launch?
