One of the casino industry’s biggest names appears eager to participate in New Jersey’s emerging Internet gambling market, even though he labeled Atlantic City as “the enemy” only seven months ago.

Las Vegas gambling mogul Steve Wynn’s Wynn Interactive LLC becomes the latest outfit hoping to grab a piece of the action when Internet gambling is scheduled to begin Nov. 26 on Atlantic City slot machines and table games.

Dozens of companies have filed applications with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement for Internet gambling licenses. The division has declined to name them until they are approved and added to a list of active vendors, but several online gambling companies have already announced their partnerships with Atlantic City casinos.

Details about Wynn Interactive’s plans for New Jersey remain a mystery at this point.

Wynn spokeswoman Deanna Pettit-Irestone declined to comment “at this preliminary stage.”

Lisa Spengler, a spokeswoman for the Division of Gaming Enforcement, said Wynn Interactive’s petition for a casino service license is considered confidential and would not be released.

In a related matter, the division has granted the company’s request to seal the organizational structure of Wynn Interactive. The organizational chart and executive salaries at parent company Wynn Resorts have also been ordered sealed from public view, according to a document posted on the division’s website.

Wynn Resorts oversees Steve Wynn’s casino empire on the Las Vegas Strip and in the Chinese gambling enclave of Macau. The company owns Wynn Las Vegas and the Encore resort on the Strip and Wynn Macau.

Steve Wynn has longtime ties to Atlantic City but currently has no casino operations in the resort. His company has not announced any Internet gambling partnerships with an Atlantic City casino, suggesting that he is searching for a local tie-in now that Wynn Interactive has filed for a New Jersey license. Among Atlantic City’s 12 casino hotels, only Revel Casino-Hotel and the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel have yet to reveal their Internet gambling partners.

In the 1980s, Wynn was part of the development of Atlantic City’s then-nascent casino industry. At that time, he owned the old Golden Nugget casino, now known as the Atlantic Club. Wynn’s 1987 sale of the Golden Nugget for $440 million was a springboard for his move to Las Vegas, where he has become one of the casino industry’s most famous figures.

Hoping to expand his gambling portfolio, Wynn is competing for a license to build the second casino in Philadelphia. While making a pitch for the project in February before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, Wynn characterized Atlantic City, Philadelphia’s main gambling rival, as “the enemy.”

Over the years, Wynn has tantalized Atlantic City with proposed casino projects that were never built. He had plans to develop a Las Vegas-style casino in the Marina District in the late 1990s, but that project died when he sold his former company, Mirage Resorts Inc.

Wynn also spoke of building “Wynn Atlantic City” in 2007 if he had been given control of Bader Field, the 140-acre former municipal airport site. That proposal quickly fizzled out when the city’s efforts to sell Bader Field failed.

Diddy’s record label, Bad Boy Entertainment, is being sued by a former intern who was not paid during her tenure at the company.

According to reports, the intern’s duties, while sucky, were pretty standard fare while she worked at the office: answering phones, fetching lunches and coffees, making deliveries.

She also decorated the office for the holidays, which doesn’t seem like it’s teaching her about the music business but DOES prove Diddy isn’t a Scrooge — even if he didn’t pay her.

At least she learned one thing in this position: how to file a lawsuit!

And in this country, that’s important in the workplace! LOLz😡

Sportech is an online gambling and entertainment company headquartered in the United Kingdom. the company changed its name to Sportech after acquiring the much larger Littlewoods Pools business in 2000.
In 2010 Sportech purchased Scientific Games Racing, one of three large bet-processing companies in the United States horse-racing industry. Clients include major racetracks in California and New Jersey, as well as off-track betting companies in parts of New York state. In 2001, Sportech was one of three firms worldwide to win gambling licenses from the Isle of Man to run online casinos in that nation.

In 2008, Sportech signed a strategic partnership with 888 Holdings to supply the firm's software. The company has been building up a solid reputation in the US gambling industry after its acquisition of Scientific Games Racing, and has now set its sights on the lucrative online gaming market, in several US states.

Chief Executive Officer of Sportech, Ian Penrose, commented that Sportech is currently in talks with several potential software partners to help it develop online games for the market in America.
Sportech has a loss-making online gaming business in the UK, which uses software developed by Playtech. The firm is partnering with Ladbrokes to re-establish the lagging online gambling division.
The Finance Director at Sportech, Cliff Baty commented that the firm is reconsidering its involvement in the UK online gaming business. The proposed 15percent “point of consumption tax” coming in 2014 in the United Kingdom will case extreme hardship for the smaller operators.
With an appeal hearing still in the works Sportech is also in a legal conflict with the U.K.tax department that claims it is owed £95m in interest and VAT paid on Sportech’s "Spot the Ball.” A tax tribunal ruled in favour of Sportech earlier this year but the ruling has been challenged by Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs.

Wentworth Miller admits he's gay in a letter targeting Russia's controversial new law.

Wentworth Miller has come out as gay in a letter slamming Russia's stance towards homosexuals, it has been reported.

TMZ.com reported the star of hit show Prison Break outed himself in a letter declining an invitation to appear at the St Petersburg International Film Festival.

"Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline," Miller wrote, according to TMZ.

"I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government."

"The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly."

"If circumstances improve, I'll be free to make a different choice."

Russia's new law outlaws the dissemination of homosexual "propaganda" to minors and has proved to be controversial, with calls for athletes to boycott February's Winter Games, set to be held in Russia.

Miller starred in four seasons of Prison Break, and wrote the script for recent release Stoker, which has had rave reveiws.

Gaming organizations are using Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake's upcoming movie, Runner Runner, to push for increased regulation of online gambling,

In the Fox movie, set to be released Oct. 4, Timberlake plays a college student who believes he's been swindled by one of Affleck's character's gambling websites.

Casino trade group the American Gaming Association is using the film as part of its effort to lobby for increased regulation of online gambling, even preparing ads and discussion screenings connected to the film to make a distinction between the seedy world it portrays and the federally regulated market the group wants, according to Reuters.

A legal, well-supervised market protects against fraud and increases revenues, its proponents claim.

AGA President Geoff Freeman plans to argue that the film underscores the risk of a poorly-regulated market, according to an email he sent to the AGA board last week, which was obtained by Reuters.

The AGA and Poker Players Alliance have long pushed for a federal online gambling bill, allowing for a larger, more uniform market.

Of the movie, Poker Players Alliance executive director John Pappas says, "People very well could get the wrong idea. Not all offshore operators are unregulated bad guys. This is a dramatization, let's be clear about that. It shows what could be happening in a worst-case scenario."

Near Cuba and not far from the Florida Keys in the U.S. lies the Bahamas, a sun-kissed tropical country that relies on tourist trade to support its more than 350,000 residents.

While those tourists often can be found enjoying the beaches at over 700 islands that make up the commonwealth, many also wander into any one of a handful of casinos that add to the vacation experience. The casinos enjoy considerable action during tourist seasons, but there are several months where the slots and table games resemble that of a ghost town.

The Bahamas is susceptible to experiencing hurricanes during the summer and autumn, which keeps visitors away. This puts a serious dent in the country's economy and has brought up discussions of perhaps permitting online gambling in order to offset casino losses during the slow tourism months.

“During the hurricane season, when nobody wants to travel to the Bahamas, we still have thousands of employees to support, we still have hundreds of local vendors and contractors to pay," said Uri Clinton, a Baha Mar Casino & Hotel representative. Clinton is pushing for online gambling legislation that would allow the country "to continue to generate tax revenue, even as people are not here using the resources,” the Bahamas Weekly reported.

The issue of regulating online gaming in the Bahamas and other jurisdictions will be discussed in the country during a conference next month entitled “Shrinking The Global Divide: Synergy, Service and Sustainability.” Set for September 18th-20th at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort, Clinton will be one of the speakers who will provide information on the legalization of online gambling from a global perspective.

The unpredictable weather patterns that sometimes wreak havoc on the Bahamas may keep people away at certain times, but online gambling is seen as a way to provide stability to its revenue stream. It's another example of the benefits that online poker and gambling could bring to any number of jurisdictions looking to add revenue.

It's no secret that online gambling has been lucrative for a few pioneering companies. Even though it's been illegal in the US since 2006, companies have made relatively large sums serving customers who are either placing bets outside the US, through a VPN, or by simply sending a Bitcoin amount to a fixed address corresponding to a “game” which will return a player's money with various probabilities.

One of the biggest Bitcoin gambling sites, SatoshiDice, stays on the up-and-up with US regulators by blocking IP addresses coming to its site from the US, but in January 2013 it reported ฿33,310 in profits in 2012, which at the time reflected $596,231 (although today it would reflect much more). SatoshiDice also reported that it made an average actual profit of ฿135.96 per day (about $2,416 in 2012 rates) from May through December 2012.

Although SatoshiDice was sold to an unknown buyer in July, it is still probably one of the largest online Bitcoin gambling sites out there. And according to a blog post written by Jeremy Liew, a partner at a venture capital firm called Lightspeed Venture partners, transactions from SatoshiDice accounted for somewhere between 25 percent and over 50 percent of all Bitcoin transactions in the month of June 2013.

SatoshiDice reported its last public financial statement in June 2013, as it was still being traded on the Bitcoin-denominated stock-exchange MPEX before being sold to a private investor. In that June statement, it reported 372,712 bets placed over 30 days, which averages out to about 12,424 bets per day. As Liew notes, winning bets involve two transactions: the placing of the bet and the return of the winnings. Losing bets obviously only involve one transaction: the placing of the bet.

If every bet on SatoshiDice was a winning bet, then there would be approximately 24,800 transactions in June on SatoshiDice. According to Blockchain, there were about 48,400 transactions per day in June. This would put SatoshiDice at serving up 51 percent of all Bitcoin transactions in June.

Of course, not every bet is a winning bet, and so the number of transactions on SatoshiDice in June was higher than 12.4 thousand, but lower than 24.8 thousand. In an e-mail to Ars, Liew noted that the company hosts a couple dozen games with different win probabilities that gamblers can play, several of which have win probabilities of 50 percent or higher.

“Satoshi Dice accounts for somewhere between 25-50 percent of all network traffic by transaction volume, depending on the distribution of bets, but we think that the distribution of bets is towards the higher probably of winning, so more like 50 percent than 25 percent, “ wrote Liew.

Still, SatoshiDice transactions tend to be smaller. If you look at average daily transaction volume for June, SatoshiDice only constitutes 5 percent of daily Bitcoin transaction volume. But these numbers are just based on one company: the recently-launched Just-Dice is growing in the online gambling community, and bitzino, which offers online poker, blackjack, craps, and roulette, said at the beginning of this year that 3.2 million wagers were made in the second half of 2012.

Tasmania is an island off the southern coast of Australia. This place is an island state, part of the Commonwealth of Australia, located 240 kilometres to the south of the Australian continent, separated by Bass Strait. The state includes the island of Tasmania, the 26th largest island in the world, and the surrounding 334 islands.
A recent report by the Examiner in Tasmania revealed that video gaming can lead to a gambling addiction. A Tasmanian youth mental health advocate says that the two are related issues.

Cate Sinclair, who is the Chief Executive Officer at Cornerstone Youth Services said ‘the increased variety and availability of gaming devices had seen a marked rise in young Tasmanians presenting with a video game addiction.’ Sinclair said she raised her concerns with Federal Health minister Tania Plibersek during the opening of Headspace North-West in Devonport recently.

Sinclair, commented, “Games reward players for certain achievements and for reaching a certain goal, with kids often given free points or credits to upgrade stuff if they log a certain number of hours,” continuing to add, “Also, games can be played online, on your phone and on consoles that are connected to people around the world,” and, “There's a lot of competitiveness involved, and it's that needing to win that gets out of control.
The Examiner reported a while ago that at least 10 per cent of Tasmania's problem gamblers were youths under the age of 24. This is an alarming number backed up by a study completed by the University of Adelaide, which concluded one in four teenagers had played a gambling-style video game, and almost 40 per cent reported a future intention to gamble with money.
The findings aren’t too surprising considering the available broadband in Tasmania and the young demographic that has grasped onto the technology. Online gambling is under the authority of the Tasmanian Gaming Commission.

The Bahamas, well known for its natural beauty, is a popular tourist destination for thousands each year. Some visitors venture into the casinos dotted around the 700 islands that make up the area and complement their holidays with a little gambling action. But a more sinister side of the Bahamas is the violent tropical weather that can wreak havoc on the tourist industry and keep visitors away for months at a time.

To try and help the casino industry in the Bahamas when tropical storms strike, a number of pro-active individuals are trying to push the idea of introducing online gambling in the country. This will hopefully offset the losses experienced by casinos during the stormy months.

One man who is campaigning for change is Uri Clinton, a representative for the Baha Mar Casino & Hotel. ”During the hurricane season, when nobody wants to travel to the Bahamas, we still have thousands of employees to support, we still have hundreds of local vendors and contractors to pay,” explained Clinton.

According to the Bahamas Weekly, introducing online gambling would allow the Bahamas to generate tax revenue, even when visitors are not physically present at gambling establishments.

The idea is attracting interest among interest groups in the industry, and next month a special conference will be held in the country where the topic will be discussed. The conference, “Shrinking The Global Divide: Synergy, Service and Sustainability” will be held from September 18th-20th at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort, and online gambling from a legal and economic perspective will be discussed by speakers such as Uri Clinton.

Earlier this year, a referendum on legalizing internet cafes and introducing a national lottery was held in the Bahamas but was rejected by voters. Prime Minister Perry Christie supports the idea of expanding gambling in the country, saying that it can bring in over $20 million a year in tax revenues, however religious groups continue to reject the idea.

Julie Harris, one of Broadway's most honoured performers, whose roles ranged from the flamboyant Sally Bowles in I Am a Camera to the reclusive Emily Dickinson in The Belle of Amherst, died Saturday. She was 87.

Harris died at her West Chatham, Mass. home of congestive heart failure, actress and family friend Francesca James said.

Harris won a record five Tony Awards for best actress in a play, displaying a virtuosity that enabled her to portray an astonishing gallery of women during a theatre career that spanned almost 60 years and included such plays as The Member of the Wedding (1950), The Lark (1955), Forty Carats (1968) and The Last of Mrs. Lincoln (1972).

She was honored again with a sixth Tony, a special lifetime achievement award in 2002. Only Angela Lansbury has neared her record, winning four Tonys in the best actress-musical category and one for best supporting actress in a play.

Harris had suffered a stroke in 2001 while she was in Chicago appearing in a production of Claudia Allen's Fossils. She suffered another stroke in 2010, James said.

'Greatest influence of my life'

"I'm still in sort of a place of shock," said James, who appeared in daytime soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live. "She was, really, the greatest influence in my life," said James, who had known Harris for about 50 years.

Television viewers knew Harris as the free-spirited Lilimae Clements on the prime-time soap opera Knots Landing. In the movies, she was James Dean's romantic co-star in East of Eden (1955), and had rolls in such films as Requiem for a Heavyweight (1962), The Haunting (1963) and Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967).

Yet Harris' biggest successes and most satisfying moments have been on stage. "The theatre has been my church," the actress once said. "I don't hesitate to say that I found God in the theatre."

The five-foot-four Harris, blue-eyed with delicate features and reddish-gold hair, made her Broadway debut in 1945 in a short-lived play called "It's a Gift." Five years later, at the age of 24, Harris was cast as Frankie, a lonely 12-year-old tomboy on the brink of adolescence, in The Member of the Wedding, Carson McCullers' stage version of her wistful novel.

A critics' darling

The critics raved about Harris, with Brooks Atkinson in The New York Times calling her performance "extraordinary — vibrant, full of anguish and elation."

"That play was really the beginning of everything big for me," Harris had said.

'The theatre has been my church. I don't hesitate to say that I found God in the theatre.'—Julie Harris

The actress appeared in the 1952 film version, too, with her original Broadway co-stars, Ethel Waters and Brandon De Wilde, and received an Academy Award nomination.

Harris won her first Tony Award for playing Sally Bowles, the confirmed hedonist in I Am a Camera, adapted by John van Druten from Christopher Isherwood's Berlin Stories. The play later became the stage and screen musical Cabaret. In her second Tony-winning performance, Harris played a much more spiritual character, Joan of Arc in Lillian Hellman's adaptation of Jean Anouilh's The Lark. The play had a six-month run, primarily because of the notices for Harris.

The actress was something of a critics' darling, getting good reviews even when her plays were less-well received. These included such work as Marathon `33, Ready When You Are, C.B.! and even a musical, Skyscraper, adapted from an Elmer Rice play, Dream Girl.
Won Kennedy Center honour

Her third Tony came for her work in Forty Carats, a frothy French comedy about an older woman and a younger man. It was a big hit, running nearly two years.

Harris won her last two Tonys for playing historical figures — Mary Todd Lincoln in The Last of Mrs. Lincoln and poet Emily Dickinson in The Belle of Amherst by William Luce. The latter, a one-woman show, became something of an annuity for Harris, a play she would take around the country at various times in her career.

The actress liked to tour, even going out on the road in such plays as Driving Miss Daisy and Lettice & Lovage after they had been done in New York with other stars.

Harris' last Broadway appearances were in revivals, playing the domineering mother in a Roundabout Theatre Company production of The Glass Menagerie (1994) and then The Gin Game with Charles Durning for the National Actors Theatre in 1997.

In 2005, she was one of five performers to receive Kennedy Center honours.
Stage debut at age 14

Harris was born on Dec. 2, 1925, in Grosse Pointe, Mich., the daughter of an investment banker. She grew up fascinated by movies, later saying she thought of herself as plain-looking and turned to acting as a way of becoming other persons.

She made her stage debut at the Grosse Pointe Country Day School in The Hunchback of Notre Dame at age 14. In the years that followed, she studied drama in finishing school, prep school, Yale University and the Actor's Studio.

Before Knots Landing, Harris made numerous guest-starring television appearances on dramas and was a regular on two quickly canceled series — Thicker Than Water in 1973 and The Family Holvak in 1975.

Her Emmys were for performances in two Hallmark Hall of Fame presentations: Little Moon of Alban in 1958 and Victoria Regina in 1961.

Harris was married three times, to lawyer Jay I. Julian, stage manager Manning Gurian and writer William Erwin Carroll. She had one son, Peter Alston Gurian.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Places in the sun are often destinations for tourists who are looking for excitement and a chance to relax. The Caribbean has a fantastic assortment of islands and nations that deliver on the excitement and luxury that well healed tourists are looking for. Many of these resorts offer gambling and dancing as well as top notch entertainment and food. The weather plays a huge factor in the delivery of the tourist products and when hurricanes and typhoons batter the resorts it is often a long time before the tourist can return and receive the full benefit for their money.
The Bahamas, well known for its tropical splendor and a popular tourist destination for many every year has seen the devastating effects of storms in the region. Tourists do frequent the many casinos located around the 700 islands that make up the area and complement their holidays with a little gambling. When the tropical storms destroy the infrastructure of the casinos and resorts there are no customers until the resources are up and running once again. Some individuals are attempting to help the nation’s difficult times by introducing online gambling in the Bahamas.

One person that wants to see some changes is Uri Clinton, a representative for the Baha Mar Casino & Hotel. Clinton commented, “During the hurricane season, when nobody wants to travel to the Bahamas, we still have thousands of employees to support, we still have hundreds of local vendors and contractors to pay,”

We get experts to tell us if sharing your online passwords with your partner can ruin relationships. When couples are in a relationship or married, does it make sense for them to share everything including their digital space? That’s a question that a lot of couples have faced and the answer varies according to the kind of relationship you share.

Thirty-two-year-old, Shristi Kamdar who has been in a relationship for more than six years, says, “The very fact that you trust someone that much to let them be a part of your life means that you share a comfort level with that person.”

Shristi who is soon going to tie the knot with her long-time boyfriend Ravi, feels there is no reason why your password should be a secret from your partner and if you can’t trust him or her not to misuse it, you should not be in a relationship with that person in the first place. She adds, “Both Ravi and I know each other’s passwords.

However, we have never accessed them. I am happy that he trusted me enough to share it with me but I don’t see any reason why I need to access his account when he is not around.”

Shristi’s fiance Ravi adds, “When I gave Shristi my password I knew she would not misuse it. She does not even like to go through my phone or wallet. I love her for that, and I know that if she is worried or in doubt about something she will directly approach me.”

Trust is key
Psychiatrist Anjali Chhabria says, “Wanting or insisting on having your partner’s password to email accounts, social network sites or laptops and cell phones among couples can be indicative of one’s insecurities.

Sometimes it may lead to unnecessary doubts in one’s head by reading too much into the material found after using the password and questioning your partner’s every move henceforth. Some partners may see it as a breach of privacy or may feel that (s)he is not trusted in the relationship. Thus, insecurities can lead to being possessive about your partner which in turn can become a cause of conflict in a relationship.

However, there are also some couples who are comfortable with sharing the passwords with each other as they may feel it is important that they know everything about each other and hide nothing.”

Passwords can’t ruin a relationship, lack of trust can!
Varkha Chulani, clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, adds, “Snooping around trying to guess your partners password indicates lack of self-belief. You obviously think you are not good enough and that your partner prefers better. Or that your partner is not worthy of your trust.

The question then is why be with a person if you don’t have confidence in yourself or in him/her? If you constantly want to know what your partner is up to there is something you are either not admitting about you relationship or about yourself. Deal with whatever is the problem it may well be you rather than waste energy snooping for evidence to prove that your partner is not worth your time.”

So should you share your password with your partner?
For many couples simply knowing that their partner is willing to share his/her passwords is enough. The key to solving this dilemma is to follow the same conduct you expect of your partner, don’t intrude into their private space or pressurise him/her to do something that they are not comfortable with.

You may want access to your partner’s online space, but it’s important to know whether your partner is comfortable with that idea. You have to put the cards on the table and let him/her decide if they want to be a part of this real and virtual merger in the true sense of the word.

Reuters recently reported that Wynn Resorts Ltd (WYNN - Analyst Report) has joined the bandwagon of applicants seeking Internet gaming license in New Jersey. New Jersey sanctioned the online gaming law in February this year. Online gaming in the state is expected to start in late November, which might get postponed to 2014. Per Reuters, 12-land based casinos in New Jersey will offer Internet gaming in partnership with online gaming companies. Further, this legalization will also levy higher taxes on online gambling revenues compared to the current tax rate being imposed on casinos.

New Jersey is in fact the third state after Nevada and Delaware to legalize online gambling. Ironically, Wynn does not own a casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Therefore, it will have to team up with a brick-and-mortar casino, which currently holds a license, to develop or offer games.

We believe that a slow but steadily recovering US market prompted Wynn Resorts -- a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) company -- to focus more on the domestic market. It is worth mentioning that the casino operator is reeling under pressure in Macau with just 2.6% growth in the recently concluded second quarter of 2013 while its Las Vegas operation witnessed an upside of 16.2%, indicating brighter prospects in the domestic market.

Apart from Wynn Resorts, other casino operators such as MGM Resorts International (MGM - Analyst Report) and Caesars Entertainment Corp. (CZR - Snapshot Report) also remain quite hopeful on the growing demand for online gaming in the US. Reuters reports that analysts estimate online gambling to generate up to $1 billion annually in New Jersey and $50 million to $250 million in Nevada every year.

To capitalize on this opportunity, in Oct 2011, MGM collaborated with web poker firm Bwin – the owner of PartyPoker and World Poker Tour -- to offer online poker in the US once it is legalized. Another operator Boyd Gaming Corp. (BYD - Snapshot Report) also entered into a partnership with Bwin.party. Caesars Entertainment is expected to launch real-money online poker in Nevada under the World Series of Poker brand by the end of this year.

Learning about the online gambling industry has become something investors in gaming are constantly doing. Upgrading information has always been way to keep a step ahead of the rest of the pack which sometimes can mean being in on the ground floor of opportunity.
One such firm Hubdub that saw the writing on the wall as a company that provides fantasy sports fans a variety of games. Hubdub is the developer and operator of FanDuel, the leading one-day fantasy sports game for NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL in the USA. Traditional fantasy sports games require players to draft a team at the start of the season and then manage it all the way through the season. The company’s research revealed that consumers wanted a game that gave much more instant gratification. This led the team of developers and founders to devise a game that would allow players to draft, play and win within a single day.

Hubdub's vision is to be the world's number one operator of premium skill games for sports fans. Interestingly all of Hubdub’s founders are from Scotland, but they launched the site in the U.S. and saw the States as the primary market. Hubdub is focused on developing premium skill games where users pay entry fees to compete at a game of skill and the opportunity to win a cash prize.

FanDuel was the first daily operator to emerge in any significant scale, getting exposure to huge numbers of fantasy sports fans by white-labeling its game through large distributors including the websites of nine U.S. newspapers, including the New York Post, Philadelphia Daily News and St. Petersburg (now Tampa Bay) Times.
It may sound like bookmaking but ythe games are legal in the USA as games of skill says the founder and CEO, Nigel Eccles, who is qualified to make that judgement having developed an online betting site in the U.K. called Flutter which was acquired by online gambling firm Betfair.

As of 6 a.m. today, free play online gambling will go live in Delaware.

The unveiling of free play online gambling kicks off the first phase of iGaming, which is set to be up and running for real-money gambling by the end of October, lottery officials said.

“The first phase will allow us to get players acclimated with the virtual world,” said Secretary of Finance Thomas Cook.

When Gov. Jack A. Markell signed House Bill 333 June 28, 2012, Delaware became the first state to legalize online gambling. Secretary Cook said lottery officials are still working on crafting the regulations surrounding the revenue breakdown, but phase one will be a start.

Players can try their luck with online slots as well as bingo, poker, roulette and blackjack, among other casino table games, by accessing online gaming through the state’s casinos’ websites (Dover Downs, Harrington Raceway and Casino and Delaware Park).

IGT Interactive and DoubleDown Casino Slots & Poker, currently the vendor of the slot machines that exist in the casinos, will facilitate the no-money gambling website through Facebook. Interested players must be over 21 to log on to the gaming, or get a parent/guardian signoff, Secretary Cook said.

“Those are games the players are familiar with,” he said.

After introducing a request for proposal (RFP) in January, this past May the Delaware State Lottery Office chose Scientific Games International-888 Holdings as the primary vendor to provide the casino-style gaming platform for real-money internet games. Those real-money games will be branded and marketed Dover Downs, Harrington Raceway and Casino and Delaware Park and all games will be regulated through the Delaware State Lottery Office.

Their contract is initially for five years and includes four additional one-year contract extension options.

Ed Sutor, chief operating officer of Dover Downs, sees the internet gambling as a positive expansion. He said the online gaming appeals to the younger generation, which in turn, could bring a younger demographic to the bricks and mortar casino culture.

“We recognize this is coming,” he said, noting that many services take place online or via mobile, from banking to shopping.
By 2014, Secretary Cook said the online gaming could move to cell phones and iPad devices.

Rank Group is a leading European gaming and betting company, headquartered in Great Britain. Rank’s businesses include a number of established brands in gaming and leisure. Rank entered Britain’s casinos market in 1989 via the acquisition of a single casino in Great Yarmouth. The acquisition of Mecca Leisure Group plc 18 months later transformed Rank into a serious player in the sector, a position augmented by the development of new casinos and a further number of acquisitions.

Today, Rank is the most profitable operator of casinos in Britain with the second largest portfolio of clubs and licences. In 2003, Rank acquired Blue Square, the telephone and internet bookmaking company in an effort to accelerate its development in the online gaming and betting sector.
Blue Square became the vehicle for the online distribution of Rank’s gaming brands, including meccabingo-com. In time, revenue from online gaming surpassed revenue from the original sports betting business.
In 2008, the business was renamed Rank Interactive and today comprises a range of well-known online gaming and betting brands, including meccabingo-com, GCasino-com and Bluesq-com. Rank’s strategic focus on the gaming sector was driven in part by the opportunities suggested by revised gaming legislation, both in Britain and in a number of overseas markets. Despite negative changes to legislation and regulation since 2007, Rank has maintained its belief in the long-term attractiveness of gaming as a form of popular entertainment.
Rank Group recently announced that it would be establishing a loyalty programme that will allow players who visit its land casinos and bingo halls to collect points and use them online.
Chief Executive Officer for Rank, Ian Burke, commented that the "crossover between online and clubs" offered the group "a huge opportunity" to increase revenues.
Burke also suggested the possibility that Rank Group would be reintroducing sports betting after it sold Blue Square Bet to Betfair earlier this year."We know sports betting is a product consumed by many of our customers," said Burke, "so we haven't given up thinking about how we can offer this, but as yet there are no specific plans."

The internet has become the way to be educated, entertained, and in touch with friends, business associates and banks. Many people today use the internet to do their banking with complete confidence that their transactions are secure and their personal information will not be shared.
When playing at online casinos there are many choices of financial services offerings available. Negotiating some of the service agreements can sometimes be a little difficult especially with the newest mobile and social casino sites coming online.

Mobile and social casino players will soon see the benefits of a new gaming payments service from Global Cash Access. Overcoming some issues this service is an international cash handling solutions and business intelligence services company. The new sophisticated interactive payments and monetization services for operators throughout the world is called Everi which will significantly “bridge the payments gap”, that exists between land-based and online gambling offerings.

Everi is a comprehensive solution, that includes Every Payments which is a straight-through payments system, Every Digital Wallet, a funds management and payments solution, and Every Productivity Suit which includes a focus for driving the revenues up via player monetization.
This new solution will seamlessly integrate into the CGA’s kiosks and land-based operations network. Everi will reduce Peripheral Component Interconnect problems operators currently experience, and increase brand awareness, at the same time allowing for more control over online gambling solutions.

David Lopez, who is President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Cash Access, made the following comments explaining the benefits of the firm’s payment solutions offering, “Everi will revolutionize the payments process by making interactive gaming payments an integral part of the player loyalty and monetization process for online and land-based gaming operators through its complete integration with GCA’s kiosks and expansive land-based operations.” Social and mobile casino gambling operators will be able to integrate Everi with the modular feature implementation aspect, allowing to select preferred customizable options.

Screen legend Michael Caine says his best friend - 007 actor Sean Connery - is "no longer in control of his senses" and fears he is losing his memory.

In an interview with German newspaper Bild am sonntag Caine said: "One must have serious concerns for him."

Caine's statements have been denied by a spokesperson for Connery, who called the report "ridiculous".

Bild said the loss of his memory is "noticeable" and that only a few close friends and confidantes, like Caine, had access to him.

"Connery forgets his life," was the headline in the paper, Europe's biggest selling Sunday newspaper.

The newspaper said his wife Micheline Roquebrune, 77, was always frightened to pick up the phone when he was out on the streets of Manhattan in case of bad news.

The inference was that he can sometimes not find his way home.

Connery, 83, told a British newspaper two years ago that he had no interest in acting any longer.

German newswebsites and papers were filled with the comments of Caine, 80, to Bild, which were confined to a couple of sentences.

A spokeswoman for Connery denied the newspaper's claims.

"The same article also have Sean living in Spain where you all know he does not live," the spokeswoman said.

"This [article] is truly silly and nonsense. I do not wish to give credence to this ridiculous story," reported the Scotsman.

The last time Connery appeared before the cameras was in 2003 for The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

He and Caine became pals during the shooting of the 1975 epic The Man Who Would Be King.
