Lamar Odom has slammed his father, saying the Kardashians are the only ones supporting him during his "dark time."

The athlete has been battling an addiction to crack cocaine according to some outlets, with other reports he has a problem with Oxycontin and Ambien.

His marriage to Khloé Kardashian is rocky due to the allegations, plus claims he has been unfaithful. The pair are not thought to be living together, with Kardashian apparently throwing Odom out of their home until he attends rehab.

The basketball star's father Joe Odom gave an interview this week in which he insisted all his son's issues are down to the family he married in to.

Joe, who has battled addiction, slammed matriarch Kris Jenner and called for Lamar to get a divorce. His son has now hit back in a lengthy post on Twitter.

"He is my downfall! His own demons may be the ONLY thing he gave 2 me," Lamar fumed.

"He disrespecting the ONLY FAMILY that has loved me without expecting anything in return. They are the ONLY ones that have been here consistently 4 me during this dark time. Only person 2 blame is myself. Say what you want about me but leave the ones who have done nothing but protect and love me out of this! This goes to out to everyone! (sic)"

This marks the first time Odom has alluded to his personal issues, having previously insisted to TMZ that everything in his life was fine.

The 33-year-old goes on to say the Kardashians have supported him since he joined their family, when he and Khloé married four years ago. He also reveals his father was not as his wedding and claims he never cared about him.

"Won't continue 2 speak on this but I have got 2 let this out real quick. I have let this man and many others get away with a lot of sh*t," Odom said. "He wasn't there 2 raise me. He was absent ALL of my life due to his own demons. My mother and grandmother raised me. Queens raised me.

"For the first time since they left, came a blessing of a FAMILY that I married into. FAMILY. That man wasn't even invited to my wedding. He has never met my mother in law and some of my other family. How can a man who has NOT once called me to check on my well being have the nerve to talk so recklessly about his own 'son'. (sic)" Odom is currently living in his downtown Los Angeles apartment while Kardashian is staying in their Calabasas home.

According to Bloomberg, Wynn Resorts Ltd. plans to run it’s online gambling business in New Jersey from Caesars Atlantic City, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

Wynn doesn’t own a casino in the Garden State — the company was linked to the Atlantic Club at one point — but both Wynn and Caesars Entertainment Corp. are working alongside 888 Holdings Ltd.

New Jersey requires that casinos have a physical presence with computer hardware in the state in order to offer online gaming, and H2 Gaming Capital estimates this could be a $7.4 billion market in the United States.

“As the online business rolls out on a state-by-state basis, everyone will need to partner with someone,” Itai Frieberger, the chief operating officer of 888 told Bloomberg. “You’ll find very strong partnerships in some cases with competitors in order to get a license.”

Frieberger declined to give a location for Wynn’s computers.

Michael Weaver, a Wynn spokesperson, declined to comment. Seth Palansky, Vice President of Corporate Communications for Caesars, said the arrangement between Caesars and 888 isn’t exclusive.

Wynn and Caesars are both competing for the sole casino license to be awarded in Boston in 2014. Wynn wishes to build a casino on the famed Mystic River waterfront, while Caesars plans to build at the Suffolk Downs racetrack.

888 already provides software for Caesars’ WSOP-com and plans to provide software for Wynn on the All American Poker Network.

“We could have 10 different brands operating in the U.S. by the end of the year,” Frieberger said.

The development and strength of Malta’s online gambling sector and its trickle-down effect on the economy were discussed, among a string of other issues, during a public dialogue on online gambling in the EU’s internal market.

The event, organised by the European Parliament Information Office in Malta in collaboration with the Malta Business Bureau, saw PN MEP Roberta Metsola, who is a substitute member on the European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) committee, participating in the public dialogue.

She explained the reasons behind her not having supported the non-legislative resolution on online gambling that the European Parliament adopted last week.

Dr Metsola said that the final version of the report – which she and the other Maltese MEPs voted against – was very different to the original. There was a great deal of pressure from MEPs coming from Member States that are governed by national monopolies.

Dr Metsola stressed the importance of striking the right balance between maintaining the strength of Malta’s online gambling sector while being fully aware of the importance of responsible gaming and player protection.

“Malta is a leader in the field, and I am optimistic that if we manage the sector well we can reach a situation where our leadership is recognised rather than trampled upon.”

MBB president George Vella, meanwhile, said: “Malta is one of the most successful new member states in Europe; we’ve had strong economic growth since we joined the EU and managed to maintain it against all odds. I think we should be focusing more of our energies on finding ways of replicating this success in other areas, in a bid to catch up with China and other economies that are ahead of Europe. “There seems to be a certain jealousy on something that tiny Malta has done, and I don’t think that this is in the spirit of why Europe was originally set up.”

Ewout Keuleers from the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) gave a presentation, noting that Malta was the first EU member state, and probably the first in the world, to introduce a comprehensive set of regulations for the online gambling sector in 2004. He said that national standalone solutions are not enough for this cross-border sector, and while Europe wants to take greater responsibility and action, there have not yet been any calls for legally-binding legislation.

The original draft report on online gambling by British MEP Ashley Fox was very much focused on the need for EU action in the sector, said Mr Keuleers. However, organised opposition from the two largest political groups (more than 400 amendments were presented) watered down the content of the report. This highlights the underlying political tension between the call for national/EU action and the need for ‘political compromise’. “The outcome of the report contains a catalogue of recommendations that will please both protectionist countries and the industry, but is this consistent?” asked Mr Keuleers.

He said Malta’s unique experience, having regulated the sector for almost 10 years, presents an opportunity for the country’s stakeholders to assist operators, as well as other member states and EU institutions, to pro-actively engage in designing a high-level holistic strategic roadmap for the sector.

Edward Zammit Lewis, parliamentary secretary for competitiveness and economic growth, delivered the closing speech, saying that the government is being proactive and plans to introduce innovative legislation to cater for particular niches to allow the country to attract further investment, even from outside the EU.

“We encourage the EU institutions to depart from the traditional and current debate on peripheral issues and delve deeper and closer into the more substantive matters of gaming regulation. As a country, we must ensure we operate this sector to the highest possible standards, and make sure that the industry is equipped to continue delivering for the Maltese economy – contributing to economic growth and employment.”

The event included a panel discussion with the participation of Reuben Portanier from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority, Alan Alden from the Remote Gaming Council, George Debrincat, chair of the online gambling section at the Chamber of Commerce, Stefano Mallia, the European Economic and Social Committee’s rapporteur on online gambling, who is also contesting the European Parliament elections on the PN ticket, and Charmaine Hogan, policy officer at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Internal Market and Services.

The provinces of Canada that are involved in the online gambling industry have shown that the system can be properly run if the right tools are used. The western most province of British Columbia has offered online gambling for a time now and has ironed out most of the start up bugs. British Columbia is a leading proponent of online gambling in the country and has gained experience that the other provinces have learned from.

The province’s Gaming, Policy, and Enforcement Branch recently endorsed a leading gambling compliance and auditing company, NMi Gaming, to manage an approval system for terrestrial and online casinos in the province. NMi Gaming has many years of experience in the industry and has a multinational presence on the planet. NMi Gaming recently opened a base of operations in Vancouver, B.C. it’s first in North America.

The Director of NMi,Gaming, Andrew Rosewarne, believes the endorsement from GPEB will help those punters in British Columbia and one day Canadians will be comfortable with nationally regulated online casinos. The goal of reforming Canadian gambling laws on a Federal level is what Rosewarne hopes for. Reducing the dangers of unregulated online gambling sites exposure to the public is also a goal to be strived for.

Rosewarne commented on the Gaming, Policy, and Enforcement Branch endorsement, “The accreditation follows an extensive audit by GPEB spanning several months to establish the suitability of our people and systems, and we are pleased to be one of the few gaming labs able to operate at this level.”
Canadian regulated online casinos are expanding throughout the country. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation’s PlayNow-com was licensed to the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries Association earlier this year. Lotto Quebec has its own regulated site called EspaceJeux, and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation intends to go live with PlayOLG.ca later this year.

TwinSpires-com announced Sept. 24 that it is suspending wagering activity from Texas residents effective Wednesday, Sept. 25, following the dismissal of a federal lawsuit in which it challenged that state's ban on Internet gambling.

"As a result of an adverse court ruling in Texas, TwinSpires-com is suspending wagering activity from Texas residents effective Wednesday, Sept. 25," a statement from a Churchill Downs Inc. and TwinSpires-com said. "We will file an appeal and are optimistic that our legal arguments will prevail."

In his Sept. 23 opinion dismissing the Churchill suit, Judge James R. Nowlin of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, rejected all of arguments by CDI and TwinSpires-com that the Texas ban violated the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

The suit was filed last fall after the Texas Racing Commission began enforcing a state law that requires all wagering on horse races by Texas residents to be placed in person. The court ruling noted that while the "in-person" bet provision had been in effect since 1986, it was amended by the legislature in 2011 to specifically prohibit Internet and telephone gambling on horse racing in the state.

TwinSpires-com continued to accept wagers from Texas residents and was issued a subpoena in June 2012, the court records indicate. Following a subsequent meeting in which commission representatives informed Churchill and TwinSpires-com that it would begin enforcing the Internet gambling ban, the track-operating company filed suit.

In the suit, Churchill contended the "in-person" requirement violates the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution and is therefore unenforceable.

Noting that a state law such as the one being challenged in Texas violates the Commerce Clause if it mandates "differential treatment of in-state and out-of-state economic interests that benefits the former and burdens the latter," Nowlin said the activities being treated differently must be "substantially similar."

"Plaintiffs assert that the Act impermissibly discriminates against Churchill Downs by treating out-of-state gambling website differently than in-state brick-and-mortar gambling establishments. Their argument fails because it incorrectly treats brick-and-mortar gambling as identical to Internet gambling. In fact, they are two wholly different activities," Nowlin wrote, supporting his conclusion with a litany of differences between the two.

Miley Cyrus freaked out after being spotted on a date with producer Mike WiLL Made It.

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker, who announced the end of her engagement from Australian actor Liam Hemsworth last week, partied at Bootsy Bellows nightclub in Hollywood early this week with her new beau, and desperately tried to hide her face under her favourite check shirt when they were recognised by photographers as they left the hotspot.

A source told X17online-com: "Miley ducked in the back seat of the car and she clearly didn't want to be photographed with Mike, but they were obviously on a date."

The music producer, whose real name is Michael Williams, collected the 20-year-old singer from her home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, and brought her to a mutual friend's house before they decided to hit the town alone for a date after midnight.

A source previously revealed that Mike and Miley developed a connection while working on her comeback album Bangerz and making her music video, We Can't Stop.

A friend recently said: "Everyone knows they're hooking up. Mike is very protective of Miley. Miley and Mike vibe off each other."

Mike is thought to have been a welcome distraction for Miley during the breakdown of her relationship with Liam, and the producer regularly shares flirty snaps of her on Instagram. In June, he posted a snapshot of Miley posing with his chain necklace, alongside as the caption, "Got the hottest chick in the game wearing my chain."

Meanwhile Liam, who moved the last of his belongings out of Miley's house on Friday, was pictured kissing Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez just a day after he and Miley confirmed the end of their four-year relationship.

Gibraltar is a destination like no other. Gibraltar's territory covers 6.843 square kilometres (2.642 sq mi) and shares a 1.2-kilometre (0.75 mi) land border with Spain. Although this has many Spanish and other ethnic influences the British influence remains strong, with English being the language of government, commerce, education and media.
Today, Gibraltar's economy is dominated by four main areas including financial services, internet gambling, tourism and a hub for the shipping industry.

Recently the territory has seen huge influxes from the online gambling industry when many British gambling service firms moved there to avoid the U.K.’s tax regime. The industry thrives providing jobs and taxation. This industry was recently seen to be in some jeopardy because of a border dispute between Spain and Britain. The problems began with a dispute over fishing grounds, then Britain and Gibraltar complained to the EU that Spain was being particularly difficult at the border, causing long waits for workers and tourists entering and leaving the British territory.
Now the European Union has sent people into the territory with six inspectors from the European Commission's customs union, justice services and anti-fraud division interviewing people and watching the customs and immigration procedures at the border. The situation in Gibraltar is unique in that the area is not part of the Schengen passport-free zone of 27 European countries. Spain does its own checking at the border.
Gibraltar has been British for longer than it was ever Spanish over 300 years versus 211 years. Any cession of territory under treaty is automatically followed by a cession of territorial waters. After more than 300 years of separate development the people of Gibraltar have the right to self determination, a right that is enshrined in the UN Charter.
Gibraltar, is home to around 30,000 inhabitants, and has a strong economy based on online gambling and insurance firms. Millions of tourists visit every year, attracted by its subtropical climate, duty-free shops and the strong British culture.

The American Gaming Association is using the new movie about online poker called “Runner Runner” to push for online gaming regulation in the United States.

In a release this week, the AGA says the movie starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake is a “cautionary tale” for Americans and policymakers in the U.S.

The AGA released research saying that Americans placed $2.6 billion in wagers at “illegal offshore gambling websites” last year. The AGA went on to say that that research “reinforces the critical need for policymakers to safeguard Americans from illegal online gambling operators like those depicted in the new film ‘Runner Runner.’”

AGA CEO Geoff Freeman had this to say:

“‘Runner Runner’ is a fictional account of a lawless online poker world ruled by shady and unethical characters that sadly is not far from reality for millions of Americans who simply want to enjoy one of our favorite pastimes in a safe online environment. Americans account for nearly 10 percent of the global online gaming marketplace at a time when the business is illegal in all but three American states. It is past time for policymakers to put necessary safeguards in place.”

While the AGA used to be opposed to online gaming and poker regulation, the AGA has come out in favor of it in recent years as its most important constituents — Nevada casinos — are pushing to get into regulated online markets. Poker is now legalized and operational within the state of Nevada, with New Jersey set to follow suit later this year. Federal legislation has never really gained much traction, despite several bills coming in front of Congress in recent years.

The AGA is using the example provided by the movie “Runner Runner” to push for change and educate the public. The AGA has launched an ad campaign with advertisements on websites “such as IMDB and ABCNews-com, as well as Google, Facebook and Twitter,” in addition to social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, according to the release.

The first quarter of 2013 was not a good one for Ladbrokes the gambling service provider in the U.K. The results back then indicated there may be more bad news coming down the pike and the recent financials for the firm has confirmed earlier fears.

Chief executive officer, Richard Glynn said Ladbrokes was making progress on its "reinvigoration strategy" back in April when the company’s shares dropped 8 percent after the firm said that its full-year profits were now likely "to be at the bottom" of analysts' forecasts.
Now here it is September and we are hearing that Ladbrokes has once again fallen below their target. Ladbrokes has warned that profit will fall short of expectations because of the lack luster performance in its online gambling sector. Profits for its online division will be around £10-14m this year, far short of the £27.5m which had been expected, the company explained. Ladbrokes shares fell 10% on the news in early trading in London.

In the latest trading update, Glynn said: "Our digital earnings have been disappointing reflecting a lack of competitiveness in sports book, lower margins than planned, and a greater disruptive impact than expected from the transition necessary to grow digital for the long term".
The competition is doing well in comparison rival bookmaker William Hill has seen its shares grow by 36% during the same period.
Richard Hunter head of equities at Hargreaves Lansdown said, "This space is very competitive, and previously high hopes for the gambling sector as far as online was concerned have been dashed in recent years. There is still nervousness around digital because of the regulatory atmosphere in the US."

Glynn comments were similar back in April, "The trading environment and economic conditions since the start of the year have remained challenging, which when combined with a number of specific one off factors in the latter part of the period, have driven a softer first quarter than expected." This time he said that conditions had been "challenging"

Jewish-American poker player Vanessa Selbst is one of the most talented pros ever to play the game as a quick glance at her poker results will confirm. Not only is the 29-year-old the top-earning female tournament player of all time, with $7,891,022 in prize money to her name, but the 2-times WSOP bracelet winner is also ranked 37th on Poker’s ‘All Time Money List.’

Incredibly, Selbst only cashed in at her first live tournament back in 2006 and every year since has recorded six-figure earnings, the biggest of which came in 2010 for $2,865,830. Nevertheless, 2013 is fast becoming yet another ‘Annus Mirabilis’ for the Yale Law School student, with an impressive $2,311,407 notched-up for the year so far.

Vanessa’s latest score came just a couple of weeks ago, when she narrowly missed out on winning the WPT $3,300 Borgata Poker Open Main in Atlantic City, eventually finishing the runner-up for a healthy $492,569 payday.

In addition to her considerable earnings this year, Vanessa Selbst’s 2013 has also been brightened up by her marriage to Miranda, whom she first met in December, 2009, during her second year of law school at Yale.

The two are often seen travelling together to poker tournaments, and having Miranda there to share her memories with no doubt helps Vanessa to stay grounded while out working her unconventional job. Staying in good health is also of paramount importance to Selbst, and as she explains:

“I try to keep life as normal as possible when on the road. That means I’ll often opt to rent an apartment in a city rather than staying in a hotel, and I try and find a way to work in some form of exercise while on the road. There’s a danger in treating every poker trip like a vacation and veering too far from a healthy routine, but that’s not good for me or my game.”

We wish Vanessa and Miranda a lifetime of happiness, and continued success for the future.

Sandra Bullock thinks she and George Clooney are "too similar" to have a romantic relationship.

The 49-year-old actress stars in the new movie 'Gravity' with her good pal and, although they regularly attend parties together, she insists they have never dated.

She told 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno': "We go way back, so far back that we're now started to take years off how long it's been. We've known each other for a while . . . I think we're probably the only two that haven't dated in the business.

"I think it's probably because we're a little too similar, in all the disturbing ways."

The Oscar-winning actress previously revealed that her son Louis, three, enjoys "man time" with George and their mutual friend Rande Gerber, who is married to supermodel Cindy Crawford.

She said: "The cute little anecdote is that he went to me and said, 'Where's George and Rande?'

"I said, 'I don't know!' And he said, 'I need them.' So we went and found them, and they had man time.

"And I sort of stood off to the side and waited for them to finish. Then I was allowed to take him back."

Louis, who was adopted in 2010, has formed a close bond with George, and Sandra believes she will always come second if he has to decide between the pair.

She said: "My son thinks he's a very cool dude. If there's a choice between me [and] George and Alfonso [Cuaron, the director], my son will leave me to be with George and these guys.

"He's a boy's boy, so he has to go talk to the men."

The State of New Jersey has said that it is still on track to launch its much awaited online gambling market on or before November 26th, 2013.

A statement issued by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement said that the state was committed to meeting the deadline which was put in place by state law in a bid to introduce online gambling as soon as possible.

In the meantime, the division is in the throes of assessing license applications by nearly 40 different groups, including Atlantic City’s 12 casinos, who wish to offer online gambling services in the new market.

The division recently asked casinos and operators to submit additional information to help with the licensing process and this was quickly forthcoming from all interested parties hoping to grab a slice of the fledgling market.

According to a spokeswoman for the division, Lisa Spengler: “The division can confirm that it has received a significant amount of additional materials from the casino licensees on behalf of their Internet gaming applicants.”

“The division remains committed to meeting the statutory deadline of November 26,” she added.

State law requires that director, David Rebuck, announce an official launch date 45 days before the industry goes live, which means that operators are expecting a statement any day soon. The list of successful license holders will only be published after this announcement.

According to Spengler, Rebuck and the gaming division have the option of asking the state for an extension of the deadline if they believe that the industry is not yet ready.

New Jersey’s industry has attracted the attention of major online gambling operators from around the world who recognize this market’s potential. The state has over 8.8 million residents and is expected to become a top player in the US’s move towards real money online gambling and poker.

“He seems to be somebody who takes great delight in the perilous journey that his life has taken,” actor James Spader said of his new villainous character, “Red” Reddington, in a recent phone interview.

The actor, 53, eloquently answered questions from a group of Asian journalists. Spader was in New York City promoting “The Blacklist,” where he stars as a criminal mastermind offering the FBI a list of terrorists, mobsters and other crooks. Spader described “Red” Reddington as “a very bad guy,” but added, “There seems to be a strange honesty and truth about him when dealing with this young woman, [FBI Agent] Elizabeth Keen (played by Megan Boone), and I’m intrigued by that relationship.”

Spader is known for roles in TV shows “The Office” and “Boston Legal,” as well as films “Endless Love,” “Sex, Lies and Videotape,” and “Stargate.” He was recently chosen to play the titular robot villain in Joss Whedon’s next “Avengers” movie, “Age of Ultron,” scheduled for a 2015 release.

Excerpts from the phone interview:

How unique is “The Blacklist?”

The show felt unique to me because it stands alone from week to week as autonomous stories. But ultimately, the episodes are tied together by this sort of serialized story that’s unfolding, having to do with the relationships of the different players in the piece over the course of the longer term. And that really intrigued me. I like the fact that the show has the opportunity to incrementally let you discover the secrets of these people’s lives.

You’ve been around for over three decades. How has the industry transformed and how have you adapted up to this point?

The industry used to be much more compartmentalized. I’ve always been lucky and I’ve been able to work at different times and in different mediums. I’ve worked in television, film, the stage. But they were always three very different businesses populated by different people, and I was very lucky to move freely amongst the three. That was not the convention. They were very different in their processes … it was easy to compartmentalize them. That’s no longer the case.

I’ve been jumping from film to television, to theatre and back, over the last four years—dabbling at all three. That’s becoming more the norm. You see that more and more. I think that’s partly because of economics, as well. The economics of the industry is contracted … People are spreading themselves out a little bit more, and taking advantage in all different mediums.

How long does it take to create an episode?

It takes us anywhere from eight to 10 days. Then there’s post-production. Let’s put it this way: Over the weekend, they were still in the editing room working on the episode that is airing tonight.

Have you started preparing for the “Avengers” sequel?

I have spoken to Joss Whedon about it. And yes, actually, just this weekend I went in for them to take very extensive photographs, head scans, body scans, and all kinds of things in preparation for figuring out how the hell I’m gonna fit in this Ultron character!

Parts one and two “The Blacklist” will premiere on October 7 and 8, 10 p.m. on AXN. Subsequent episodes will air Mondays at 10 p.m.

The American Gaming Association estimates that Americans spend about $4 billion gambling online each year, even though Congress banned it in the U.S. in 2006. About 1,700 offshore sites have handled these bets, but there are now three states benefiting from superseding the federal laws that have tried to keep players from cashing in big.

Delaware, Nevada, and New Jersey have all been dealt a royal straight flush on the river and now allow online gambling. California, Massachusetts, Iowa, and Illinois hope to follow suit and allow it in the near future, too.

Considering that the online gambling industry is one of the most profitable industries on the internet, millions of people around the world are wagering on sports and playing poker. Not only do online gaming sites offer convenience and safety to users who choose to use them, but they also provide economic benefits to governments at the state and federal levels.

In regards to money, jobs, and government influence, the online gambling industry is a major force in the U.S. Whether it’s legal or illegal, it’ll always be a discussed and debated. The following infographic briefly examines online gambling and the financial impacts that accompany it.
