Kentucky lawmakers have been discussing the possibility of expanded gambling at state racetracks for the better part of the past year. For the first time, however, a Bill has advanced out of a Senate Committee on Thursday.

Senator Damon Thayer has proposed the legislation that would allow for Instant Racing at the eight racetracks in Kentucky. The betting would call for the tracks to pool bets on races that have been run previously. The legislation would help the ailing racing industry in the state. :thumbsup

While Barney Frank and the supporters of online gambling in the United States are racing against time to get a regulatory framework in place before June 1 2010, there are lobbies that are trying to prevent this from happening. The opposition of the conservative legislators who are against online gambling on social and moral grounds is well known. However, earlier this week a powerful lobby that had so far been sitting on the fence has thrown its weight against online gambling.

In light of the recent gambling bill passed on October of 2006, many online casinos, poker rooms and sportsbooks have stopped allowing U.S. Players to play. In addition, there are several deposit methods such as Moneybookers, Firepay, Citadel, MyCitadel, and most recently Neteller that no longer allow US customers. However, there are still many 3rd party deposit methods that still accept residents living within the United States. I will list below all the ewallet companies that are still accepting players from the US to use their ewallet services. Simply click on the link for each deposit method to read a full review of that particular purchase option as well as all the online poker rooms, casinos, and sportsbooks that take that deposit option.

Our recommended usa deposit method is e-check usa casinos.

Las Vegas, Nevada is preparing for legal online casino gambling within the United States. Known as the capital of land-based gambling in the US, they want to get a fresh start with online gambling once it becomes legal on a federal level. It has been speculated that the Nevada Gaming Control Board is now creating rules to govern the land-based casino operators once the federal government regulates the online gambling industry and gives the green light to Nevada legislators which would then permit Las Vegas casinos to legally offer gambling over the Internet. :thumbsup

Delaware has been one of the more proactive states when it comes to expanded gambling in the US over the past couple of years. That is why it comes as no surprise that lawmakers are considering adding casinos.

Delaware made national news last year when lawmakers legalized sports betting in the state. The plan called for regulated gambling on all major sports, but the sports leagues challenged the law in court.

The NFL led the charge, and the leagues won in the legal system. Delaware was forced to accept only parlay bets, not single-game wagering. Other states have since explored the possibility of legal sports betting.

I just rented the second Boondock Saints film and I have to say I enjoyed it. Maybe not as much as the first film but it was very good. The only bad thing I can say about the movie is that William Dafoe was not a main character in it. I love watching him act. Other than that it was very entertaining. I will be buying the DVD soon. I give it a 9/10:thumbsup

When Rose Gruber first started talking to teens about gambling, she'd ask how many of them had gambled and get one or two hands.

That was 10 years ago. Today, it's an entirely different story.

"Now I go in and ask how many have played poker, and usually it's 85 percent if not more," said Gruber, executive director of the Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling. "When I ask how many do it regularly, again that's a pretty high number β€” well over 50 percent usually."

The Council on Problem Gambling is holding its 12th annual conference at Blue Harbor Resort and Conference Center.

The conference, which started Thursday and runs until today, brings together state and national experts on problem gambling with treatment providers, recovering gambling addicts, family members, representatives from schools and the legal system for education about the variations of problem gambling, Gruber said.

In Wisconsin, between 5 and 7 percent of adults are considered problem gamblers, and an even higher number β€” possibly up to 20 percent β€” of teens fit that description, Gruber said.

That equates to about 330,000 people.

"Teens, we tend to see them sports betting, a lot of poker playing, Internet gambling," Gruber said. "Adults, they do all those things as well, but adults also do casino, lottery, sports betting."

Topics covered in the two-day conference include "Pathological Gambling is a Family Matter" and "Senior Gambling: Fantasizing About Magical Solutions."

Gruber said the point of the conference is education, and the hope that treatment providers and anyone else with an interest in problem gambling will look for ways to learn more. "It's really geared toward anyone who wants to learn more about the problem of gambling," Gruber said. "We're trying to do some teaching (for) therapists, how to deal with compulsive gamblers. I don't know that there is a solution."

The Council on Problem Gambling has been in existence since 1993, and its 24-hour help line was established in 1995. For more information, visit gamblers.org or call (920) 437-8888. The help line number is (800) GAMBLE-5 or (800)-426-2535.

With March Madness gambling right around the corner, many online gambling sites are expecting a surge in Internet gamblers. Unfortunately, many are uneducated to the potential dangers of choosing the wrong online gambling site, and an Internet security provider has recently issued a caution to those who might turn to Internet to place their wagers.

Democratic party leaders predicted they finally have the votes in the bag to pass the health reform bill later today, giving Barack Obama the first major triumph of his presidency and offering Americans near universal coverage.

The goal of universal healthcare coverage has eluded Obama's predecessors for more than a century.

It is time to pass healthcare reform for America!!

Growing signs that Google is on the way out of the world's biggest Internet market have prompted a series of angry broadsides in the Chinese state media, accusing the U.S. Web giant of politicizing the censorship dispute.

Google.cn has about 35% of China's search market.
